Hi, Gang. I want to replace the missing "Keep Your GM Car All GM" decal on the side of my '71 GS air cleaner. Looking at the repro decals that are available, I see three different ones that "might" be right. There are BA, BC, and BG letter designations on the three decals. A photo of the BG one is shown below. Which decal is correct for my '71 GS 350? Thanks very much for any help. SDB0211-lrg.jpg John

Hi, again. Any thoughts on the correct letter designation (BA, BC, or BG) I need on my '71 GS 350 air cleaner housing? I imagine more than one guy has done an excellent restoration on a '71 GS 350, and solved this problem! I've tried to research the answer, and have come up short.

Any help would be appreciated, Guys. Thanks. John

Hi again, Gang. Anyone with some information on my question? Otherwise, I think I'll just take a guess at the right sticker. I'm thinking no one will know the difference, whether I put a BA, BC, or BG decal on my air cleaner! John

I believe it should be 6485517 & the code would match the air cleaner code on the build sheet (maybe C0). Try messaging gransportsedan - not sure if his air cleaner was ever redone. I had one but sold the car. The '71 350 car I have now was originally special ordered by a lady & she took it in for work & the shop stole the orig. air cleaner. Totally denied it of course. She found another (this was back in the '80's) so mine won't help.

6485520 is a 350 4bbl, non dual snorkel heavy duty

Looks like the code should be BC and the part #6485517

YW. Took a bit of time, but got me curious obviously and now I know what I need for my car(s) too:). What was a bit puzzling is that is appears that this would apply to all '70-71 GS cars w/o the HD air cleaner, but I have a copy of a build sheet for a '70 BBB, and it shows the C0 code as referenced above, but the assy. manual only shows the 6485517 with different part #'s for the decals & foam seals as if they were applied as necessary on the assembly line. The BC code is off the build sheet from a '71 GS w/350.

The topic of HD air cleaner filters is in the midst of a deep discussion on the Facebook Buick Gran Sport Stage.

    Check it out.

How about the location / placement of the AC air filter label? Regards, Upstaged in SW Michigan.

Aim for more-or-less the center of the pass side, close your eyes, and apply. That was the factory way LOL
