I say yes those are correct unless an early car used the 1970 style

Well, not exactly correct on the lid. The original discharges straight out through the center of the black lid, not 90*.:error:

Thats only true for the 1970 washer bottle Dan . The bottle sits further down in the engine compartment on a 70 . It was raised in 71 so the 90* lid was used . Pretty sure this was done so the hose would clear the hood .

Ok, here is what i have,
left one was in the car ( Ford :eek2: ), middle my last buy with the description below, right one bought some time ago, found out it's for 70

"We have reproduced the correct washer bottle without the cut corner. This bottle was reproduced for the true restorer. GM changed the replacement design because they made the bottle fit 1976 and up trucks, but they kept the same number. This bottle comes complete with cap and hose. Fits 1970-72 Chevrolet Chevelle; 1970 Chevrolet Impala; 1970 Chevrolet Camaro; 1971-74 Chevrolet Nova; 1971-72 Chevrolet Vega, 1970-74 Pontiac Firebird/Trans Am; 1971-72 Pontiac GTO; and 1971-72 Buick Skylark."

But with the position where it should sit with the bracket, i think Ken ist right, with a staight out it would collide with the hood

[IMG][IMG]Here are two pics of 71 washer bottles . Note the bracket that attaches to the fender . 70 washer bottles are screwed to the inner fender (no bracket) . Hope this helps !

I should add that California GS' in 1970 got the 71 style to make room for the charcoal canister .

Whats the sticker on top of the overflow bottle in post #9?

Good question Matt ! The car in the pic belongs to Bob Lindquist . It was in Hemmings Muscle Machines a few years back . Restored by the Diabos at Gran Sport Auto . I think the sticker has instructions for coolant fill?

I have never seen a decal attached to the overflow container or a sticker on the drivers side inner fender. Also, I have never seen a coolant sticker on any Buick A-body car after 1970.

I've never seen a sticker there either but if you look at the top you can see where the sticker goes. It's faint but there.

I think you will find that the assembly manual(s) will tell a different story. All the decal locations are clearly shown and illustrated in these manuals. Dealers may have installed different decals and put them where they saw fit.

If you've ever been in a plant then you'll realize that assembly manuals are only recommendations. LOL

I completely agree, however, as I stated earlier, I never saw that placement on any Buick A body car. I didn't see them all but I have seen a lot of them from different plants. Those factory people are "creatures of habit", for sure.

Dan, very bold reply with no back up. What are your findings?
