I just don't have the time to hold peoples hands. I only stated the obvious... You can buy NOS parts (as Duane has mentioned a thousand times before), but it doesn't mean they are correct, and in MOST cases not! For what it is worth, I bought the same NOS tank to replace my yellowed original. Everything was exactly as my original, minus the cap... So I tossed the NOS cap, and kept my original, as it fit perfectly in the new tank. Concourse Gold does in no way equal correct.:Smarty:
I didn't notice anyone asking for their hand to be held. You have the time to make bold statements but no time to explain you point. And nobody said NOS parts/pieces are the end all/be all. In some cases, that might be all that's available.
Dan, can you post a picture like the below, from your installed bottle ? http://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/PyUAAOSw5cNYhnT2/s-l1600.jpg
The '70, '71' and '72 assembly manuals each show the discharge cap for the washer bottle being straight up, not on 90*. They all have the same part number and the illustrations are the same for each application. No revisions are noted. I have or did have a cap, new in the GM box, that is 90* discharge. It shares the same part number as the straight up and down unit. I have seen and bought cars with both versions so who the H knows? I don't think this matter warrants people getting upset over. Use the version that your car came with or the one you like best.
I am not disputing the use of one style or the other. That's how I set mine up, too. It only makes good sense. I was making the point that the revision was never added to the assembly manual(s) that I have. It seems odd that there were no changes in the '72 printing. All the illustrations (4) show the one style cap and not both.
