Need info on carb to purchase for my 455/40 over rebuild. has Ta 310 cam with Ta roller rockers Single plane intake. combo was suggested by mike at Ta when i assembled the engine 3 yrs ago. have not ran the engine as yet. do occasionally turn the engine to reposition the valves. heads are from a 73' 455 on a 75' block. heads are stock with 3-angle valve work. how much carburation can i use without defeating my purpose of max power?:Do No:

MINIMUM I would use on that motor is an 800 cfm Qjet, Although I think youd be better off with a nice holley 850 DP. But DO NOT go smaller.

The quadrajet built for yor 455 would be great performance and good cruising characteristics. The Buick Quadrajet from 71-74 was 800 cfm with divorced choke. I run one that I modified to gain cfm and it does great on my 455, with big mods.

Agreed, I have one installed on my 71 and it runs well.
