Cutting out a dash frame

    anyone cut out a dash frame before? if so, how did you do it? Thanks!

    You first have to drill all the spot weld out along the top where defrost vents are, easier if windshield is removed, also area under dash left and right sides that need to be drilled, it's a much larger area I believe I had to use a hole saw to remove the dash. These areas drilled out will have to be re-welded

    You can cut it out first then do all the fine work. Just cut well beyond what you need so nothing important gets cut.

    What's a dash frame?
    I removed the entire dash from my 66. The upper length is spot welded where it attaches to the lower windshield channel, spot welded at lower corners to brackets at the kick panel, and one brace in the center.
    The windshield channel was rusted, a repo is avail, so it was just a matter of drilling some spot welds to get the whole dash out of the way.
