    ... T
the B&M 10-inch torque converter supplied by my engine builder over 6-years ago; it failed @ 6-weeks ago ... as soon as I started manually shifting the TH400. I think it was 1st gear that killed the converter.

    Hey, Sean .

My tranny builder is away until the Saturday after Thanksgiving Day. Then I take the Buick to his shop for a full TH400 teardown and new rebuild.

    Have a great day.

    Good morning, ALL.

    Tyrone sent me these photos yesterday regarding my TH400;

    _00_My-TH400 PUMP -121.jpg _00_My-TH400 PUMP -121-a.jpg _00_My-TH400 PUMP -121-b.jpg
Tyrone said that my #121 front pump is destroyed ... valve-body needs rebuilding, and there were obviously small shreds of metal throughout my TH400 3-speed automatic.

    121-PUMP.jpg 121-PUMP-a.jpg

Tyrone had trouble locating a #121 pump ... I found one (above photos) last night online. A #895 front pump isn't as good as a #121 ... Tyrone said, but it will do if no #121 pump could be found.

Just a reminder to flush the lines, the rad (if your trans was being cooled by the rad?)and or trans cooler as they will have metal in them too....

    Good afternoon, ALL.

It "appears" that I got lucky this Christmas.
Mickey Thompson S/S "275/60/15" Drag Radials will "replace" my current Mickey Thompson 275/50/15's. :3gears:

    MickeyThompson 275-60-15 Drag Radial.jpg

Regarding my TH400 rebuild ... the #121 front pump hasn't shipped out to me yet (I checked a few minutes ago).
I ordered the last "3" casting #121 front pumps ... that seems to be VERY hard to find. They arrive on 12-8-2016.

I'm heading straight to get a wheel alignment at Whitey's as soon as I get my Buick back from "Tyrone Taylor Transmissions."

I give a SUPER-SPECIAL "Thank You Very-Very Much" to Mr. Bruno (The King) D., Larry "The Wizard," and "The-Man-Himself" ... Mr. Jim Wiese of Tri-Shield Performance."

I appreciate you guys VERY much, and may God continue Blessing you and your entire Family.

    Good morning, ALL.

My TH400 front pumps arrive today; UPS tracking shows "Out For Delivery."

Tyrone is picking one of the #121 front pumps today, and a few other items when he gets out of work.

    So-Far-So-Good, Thank God.

    ... just a few exterior pics of upcoming changes;

The 3-piece Grand National trunk spoiler from Brian Weaver/gbodyparts.com gets painted the factory light blue color. Also, the 4 aluminum ARE Vector T-wheels are going to have my custom (above pics) center caps.

    210BUCKS-Ebay-window sweeps-included-12-29-2016.jpg 1987 Buick Grand National DOOR HANDLES-X2-gbodyparts-29BUCKS.jpg
I got lucky on Ebay for the black-out window, b-pillar, and window sweep moldings ... the black door handles are from Brian Weaver.

    10BUCKS-Ebay.jpg YEAR ONE-35Bucks-TRUNK LID.jpg 20BUCKS-Ebay-2.jpg
The trunk lock frame (getting blacked-out) is from Ebay as well, the GSX (BY BUICK is already blacked out) badge is from YearOne (dirt cheap), and the new/larger BUICK & REGAL letters are from Ebay as well. These 4 items are for my trunk lid after the GN rear spoiler is installed-painted/dry.

These composite plastic flexible front & rear bumper body fillers are from Brian at gbodyparts.com as well.

    CARPET-HS.jpg
Last month, I finally purchased the floor carpeting with jute padding from Highway Stars.

When I went to Whitey's on Atlantic Avenue over a week ago to get my wheels aligned ... they told me that the passenger side front aftermarket upper control arm "might" be bent ... thus preventing them of doing a wheel alignment.

I ordered a new set of upper control arms over the phone from Speedway Motors while in Whitey's ... Whitey's told me that they DO NOT install aftermarket parts. So, I spoke with PepBoys, and they gave me a price to change upper control arms, and give my Regal a wheel alignment.

    2.jpg FUCA.jpg
IMPORTANT NOTE: For g-body cars, you need to buy TWO RIGHT SIDE control arms ONLY ... NO left & right.

I have to wonder what kind of hit your upper arm would take to be bent or it was never built right in the first place. What brand were they?

I'm a little nervous about those Speedway arms you bought. I also wondered what was up sing the same one for both sides. It is explained in their Q&A section. They have no bushings in them. I wondered why they were so cheap. They need to be greased regularly and hopefully they hold up. Plus, I'd watch out for big potholes because they will make the bumps rougher without bushings. There's a reason the normal custom a-arms are so much more expensive. Don't forget to add in new upper ball joints to cost.

I'd send them things back, they for round track use, new York streets will destroy them things

That a pretty common part for G-bodies but really more meant for 80% strip/ 20% street cars, that's not to say some people have gotten away using them on street car but as suggested they probably won't handle NY streets -- if you can afford them buy the SPC's and Howe Precision Xtra tall upper ball joints and lower ball joints, they are very nice units.

Double check part #'s though if you happen to change your mind and go this route as I didn't spend much time looking at them.

Here's a link to a suspension guru who wrote a book (literally) about the suspension on these cars....

IF you stay with what you've bought be sure to fab up a limiter so that they don't hit the frame when the weight has been removed off them.

... MUCH appreciated :TU::TU:. If I'm not mistaken, the sales lady told me that they have 2 types of the upper control arms ... 1 for circle track duty, and the other/ones I bought over 6 years ago for street use. (???)

The arm probably got bent (If it really is) before the KYB front shocks were installed.

I appreciate the ball joint info as well.
