My 1971 skylark was missing the dash plate that goes under the steering column, so I went on eBay to find one. I found a black one for $10 that I could paint. I just went through this. Go to a good automotive paint store and ask if they can put paint in a rattle can. Write the trim code (from your firewall) down and take it with you. They matched mine up and it appears really close, corse I'm comparing new with near 40 year old paint that's been faded by the sun, but looks good!
If the local shop doesn't work out, get a hold of www.autocolourlibrary.com. My '71 interior is Sandalwood, just like yours. I sent them my underdash plate & they matched it perfectly. I had enough made to paint the entire dash, dash pad,8-track & shorty console, with a couple cans for future use. Their recipe isDL-TCP122603(SC).
