    Hey everyone.

So reading on here that Dewitts is supposed to make a radiator for us Buford folks. However I’ve had no luck.

I’ve tried to call “John” & left him messages three times & no returned phone call. I called them today & they told me that a radiator for our Buicks will cross over to the Chevelle part number.

Is this true? If so that’s fine I was just under the impression that there was a radiator for our Skylarks. Let me know.

    Thanks,

    Kyle

No the hose fitting diameter is not the same.

    Kyle,
I have a Dewitts in my GS. When ordering, you have to specify it is for a Buick. DeWitts is familiar with this and knows the hose fittings need to be adapted accordingly. BTW, I'm very happy with my radiator...not cheap but DeWitts makes a quality product.

    Thanks fellas.

I’ve told them what kind of car I have & they keep telling me that it’s the same as a Chevelle.

Is there someone I can talk to over there besides “John” or the James guy who keeps telling me they cross over?

    Kyle,
Not sure if it's the same "John" but the guy I dealt with was John Dingman. He mentioned Chevelle but only to indicate they were the same size dimensionally and he was totally on point with Buick fitting requirements. In fact, I'm pretty sure DeWitts is a sponsor to some Buick events. Good luck, once you get on the same page I'm pretty sure you will be happy with the product.

They do except for the lower hose. If you ask them to make the lower hose 1 1/2" instead of the Chevelle's 1 5/8", it will be fine. The only other concern might be the lower petcock. When I ordered my Griffin radiator back in April of 2000, I specified 1 1/2" lower hose and moved the petcock up 1".

They made the radiator in my Riviera starting with the Chevelle unit as a base due to it being the correct size. I filled out a sheet supplied by them with the location of my trans cooler lines and the inlet / outlet hose sizes. I went for the upgraded core and HD trans cooler. The completed unit fit in the stock location but I had to modify the shroud a bit due to the new radiator being 1/4" thicker. I really like it.
