Did Buick stamp the 400 rods?

I am looking over the original 400 in my dads 69 GS and noticed the rods are stamped with the cylinder numbers. Anyone know if this was done when the engines were built? This is my first pass at a Buick engine. The Chevy/GMC engines were not stamped, but typically are when they are rebuilt.

The engine still has the VIN on the deck. If the engine has been done it wasn't decked.

    Appreciate the insight.

I have tore down a few 400's and 430's and about a dozen 455's. Never have I seen the rods marked on a virgin engine. Of course the ones that were previously apart, the rods were marked.

That is what I assumed. This engine has most likely been apart, just not decked. Will measure the cylinders to gauge if it has been bored or not.
