Does anyone know the correct color for a divorce choke assembly - I've seen some red to match the intake and some silver/gray. This is for a 1972 Buick 350.
Be careful using that word! I saw "divorce" and got all excited! Im going to guess that they're supposed to be gold cad. Im not sure if any paint is going to hold up that well with the heat around that area. I would paint it in a high heat gray or just paint it red.
>>Ha ha Jason - looking for the next divorcee with a Buick to unload? Thanks for letting me know - if I had more time I might send it out along with the spare hood latch I have for replating but as I'll be doing the intake swap starting this weekend I'll probably just paint it high temp red with the rest of the intake.

So this part would "not" have been installed on the engine when it was painted at the factory? Years ago when I did a 71 Riv I thought I recalled finding out it was painted engine color......but of course that could have been an error.
All the ones I see on juked ars are not painted or too rusty to tell. The one I juts took off a 71 Electra 455 still had black colored heads on the bolts if that tells you anything. My guess it was installed at the same time as the carburetor.
