Do you see older beaters / daily drivers where you are?

South Florida may have tons of restored classic cars hidden away in garages, but I NEVER see any 60s or 70s detroit pig iron being used as daily drivers.

I drive my GN every day and actually saw a Monte Carlo SS this week, but can't remember the last time I saw an unrestored old car on the road.

Okay, there is one old VW bug around here, but other than that....

What about other parts of the US?

Saw a 63 Falcon a few months ago. looked like a 90 year old lady had it since new and was not to bad a shape. It was white with rusty white rims on it and sounded like a straight six in it. In northern Wis.

There’s a lady near here who drives a 68 Charger every day except in winter.

I drive my GS and my ‘85 Camino a lot. There are several people in town who drive their street rods and muscle cars a good bit, I see an unrestored ‘70 SS396 Chevelle (triple green, white stripes) often, and I see a mid ‘70s Camino almost daily, a few late ‘70s and a fair amount of ‘80s beaters. I see a lot of ‘70s-‘90s trucks around in unrestored condition-some nice, some pretty tired.

Not here. Rust gets them before they reach drinking age (the cars, not the drivers). Although I did see a '61 bubble top impala driving in the snow last night for some reason in Edina, MN. Doesn't count, it wasn't a beater.

    1972Mach1 Just some M.M.O.G. guy.....

Every day here, lots of 60s-80s stuff driving around. One guy drives a '69 Sublime Road Runner everyday no matter the weather, and 60s-70s trucks are just trucks here.

Smokey15 So old that I use AARP bolts.

I'd cruise that Olds everyday, in the summer. Salt roads in the winter eats them up too fast. The oldest car I drive year around is my '92 Acclaim that we've owned since 2001. It's parked at the moment. Needs all the brake lines replaced except the rubber lines to the front calipers which I replaced 3 years ago.

Here is my beater a 91 Lincoln Mark VII.
Bought it in St. Louis three years ago with 83K miles for $3800 just flipped 100K. All original with R-12 freon still in it. Being an A/C contractor I still have a tank of 12 but only topped it off once. Still has the original pneumatic suspension too.
Gives me 18 city & 26 hwy but premium fuel... Tomb quiet at any speed, tracks dead straight, huge 4 wheel discs, rides like a Mercedes E and has the best stereo for cranking tunes (from the factory).

The olds is the best 900 bucks I've ever spent. It's parked in the garage at the moment. I need to get it ready for a 5k mile road trip this spring. Headed to az to get a 1/4 for it.

I saw a really tired-looking 1st generation VW Microbus on 5th Ave in Naples yesterday. It was quite a contrast to the Maseratis and Bentleys that are kinda the norm there.

There was a large VW meet in Dade City this weekend, went to a show up that way Saturday and saw countless Bugs and Vans on 75, could have been in the area for that.

Same here in Chi-town. Only time you may see something older than 1980 on the road in winter is during those rare times when it is 60 - 70 for a day.

I drive mine, every single day. I have a 68 Camaro show car that sees 1-2 thousand miles a year, but the Buick goes everywhere and does everything. I even use it as a truck to haul rubbish and crap to the tip.
