I really think Cadillac's White Diamond Pearl would look stunning on my Riviera.
What do I need to know/do to get exactly the color I'm looking for?
    You guys always know best.

    Thanks

You need to get the paint code....then get the paint in a good brand name....

Dont worry. That color is an option for 2013 Buicks too. And I think its a great color. Its very difficult to match and touch ups arent even really an option but I still love it.

Any capable painter/ paint shop should be able to get all the correct info and materials without issue. Just tell them what you want and that you would like a sample and take outside in the sun to verify it is what you want.
I believe its a three stage paint job FWIW.

Many Buicks have had it available. My 98 Riv is Bright White Diamond. Not really different than what you are looking at.

If you're worried about using a GM color on a different GM product line car around here, I'm not even going to say where I got the paint for my Skylark. (and NO, it wasn't China).

No, I just know there are a lot of purists on the board. :bla:

Also, I know very well that it's going to cost me a whole lot of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

Blue and White Riv.jpg <-----That car, WDP. :)

The only thing I really worried about is the pearl clashing with the blue top. The plan was to dye the top a darker blue, and tint the windows.
I'm thinking a darker (royal?) blue would look better with the WDP than the lighter blue. Keep in mind, powder blue interior.

    Opinions? Suggestions?

    Thanks, guys!

About seven or eight years ago I had a white Deville and I sure wished it was that pearl white instead of regular white!

I thought that was a very cool looking color. It would look great on a Riviera.

I would like my next Cadillac to be that pearl white or black.

By the way, for the cost of that paint job I would go ahead and re do the top to look good with the new paint.

    Ah! Another fear of mine-
I want WHITE DIAMOND PEARL, the newer Caddys seem to have more of a cream color, and I really hate that. :Do No:

I fully intend to paint my 62 Special that color, when I get it done. I think that pearl will look awesome over all the curves on that bodywork.

There happens to be a very notorious gsx on this board that i think is one of the most stunning cars ive ever seen. When done properly and on the right car i think it looks great. IMHO, rivis would be that "right car" too!

I planned to re-do the top, I'm just not sure on the color? With the blue interior?

I wouldn't worry about what other's think it is your car, and I think it would look good. (yes that was an intended pun) Have you see the cobalt blue on the Ford mustangs? Beautiful IMO, and it may make its way to my 66 Skylark some century....

Well, in all honesty, the original plan was for the car to be two tone blue. Robins Egg Blue on top, Firemist blue on bottom. :kodak:
After much debate, that's just too much work to change colors completely. So, we're thinking the WDP. I'm just incredibly worried about it turning out to be a cream color, and that'd be unbearable. :Do No:

make sure that the white base coat is a bright white and you will be ok,the pearl is all in the mid coat and is a white pearl. I mix paint for a living, mixed 800J just the other day

another option is pick your own white out and just buy the 800J mid coat, a good paint shop should be willing to work with you, tell them what you want to do, and buy enough to do the whole car with leftovers, more is better than not enough and you are assured that it is mixed the same
