Looking for some input on DR/slick tire wheel combo that I could use on both of my cars, so I wouldn't have to buy different wheels. My 66 Skylark has a 71 8.5 rearend in it. The 85 GN has the stock 8.5 rear in it. Was looking to try to run a 275/50-15(or equivalent, or maybe 275/60-15, if they'll fit) on both, but unsure of wheel backspace requirements. Anyone have any info about this? I just don't want to have 2 sets of tires/wheels. They would be used more on the 85 GN, than on the 66 Skylark. Thanks.
I believe the GN needs much less back space than the 66 Lark. On a 8" wheel,the GN wants 4" while the 66 will want at least 5". Maybe someone with this experience will chime in.
