    Yeah, 2 totally different cars.

What's interesting is that both of these "Barn Find" GSX's appeared around the same time frame. (So that ads to the confusion) And both are White - Stage 1 - 4 Speed Cars with Low Mileage!

Gordon' GSX can be seen on my website here > https://www.stage1restoration.com/1970-barn-find-gsx-stage-1/

It's currently undergoing a Concours Level Restoration here in Eau Claire and is set to be unveiled this year at MCACN. (IF that still happens)

    Here's a some info on Gordon's GSX . . . .

This GSX is a true “Barn Find” located in southern Wisconsin. It was drag raced most of its life and only has 29,675 original miles! It is what most consider to be the “Holy Grail” of Buick Muscle Cars.

This Apollo White model was ordered with the Stage 1 Engine Option as well as a Muncie 4 Speed Transmission. It was also special ordered with Manual Steering! This is very rare since the GSX package included quick ratio power steering. The original owner of this GSX wanted it to go Fast! No other options were ordered. Only 678 of these cars were built in 1970 with only 187 of them wearing the Apollo White Paint.

Check back later this year as this Original Paint / Matching Numbers beauty will be receiving a full blown “Autokraft” Frame Off Restoration.

    docgsx It's not a GTX

His name is James, we bought that white X. Rich Johns got the steering wheel from it, I think Rich also got some stage 1 carburetors, distributors and other pieces that James had.

    Holy cow, small world.
Yes James, so what status is the car at/in now?

The car was the first one restored by “then and now” in Atlanta Georgia years and years ago. They added power steering to it because it was originally a manual steering car. (with power brakes). It was driven briefly and then taken to Barrett /Jackson Scottsdale Arizona. I believe it set a record for gran sport cars there at about $59,000. not sure of its history after that.

Pretty neat. I think about that X and James. Should have made him an offer years ago....

My favorite 70 and my favorite 71.
You now need to restore a 72 stratomist.

We do have a 71 "X" in the shop that's Stratomist Blue if that counts!
I'll have pictures of that on my website soon.

Does anyone know if this was bought from a well known buick collector that passed away about 2 years ago. I believe this was part of his collection. In Menomonee falls WI. His name was Ralph. He had quite a few highly optioned/documented rare cars ranging from 70-72.

    Nope, not Ralph's car.

I had bought a few parts from Ralph over the years. He was very passionate about Buicks!
