Edlebrock / Q-jet

    I thought edlebrock and Q-jet carbs were the same carb? Am I wrong? Or are they just similar. Or did edlebrock improve Q-jet. Or is it a Copy cat.

    Edelbrock at one point was producing the Quadrajet, I believe after GM stopped. They made a lot of improvements to the Q-jet. They rated them at 850 CFM. Edelbrock also produces a host of Carter AFB clones. Those are 2 different carburetors. Edelbrock no longer produces the Quadrajet, for at least a few years now. Cliff Ruggles has a separate chapter dedicated to the Edelbrock Q-jet in his book.
