Ok I'm not an expert when it comes to auto-electrical knowledge. But I was wanting to know if it's normal for the voltage in my Skylark to drop a little at idle ? When I'm driving it's right at 14. When I come to a light or I'm stopped for a moment it slowly drops down to 12. Goes back up when I start moving. Thanks, John B.

That is normal operation. Turn on your headlights and watch it reduce furthur. I note that when I have headlights on, stopped at a stop sign/lights, brakes on, the voltage really drops.

Yes, normal for the externally regulated alternators. That is why lots of guys swap in the 12si internally regulated alternators. Pretty simple to do, and they put out triple the amperage at idle.
