Since there were no X body cars specifically listed above, are we to assume that this ** note means that we are to include the X bodied cars even though they weren't listed. I confuse easily when lists are incomplete.

Are in the process of considering to allow 1975 to 1979 Muscle Cars with 200hp or greater to participate in the Pure Stock Drags. We have compiled a list of these cars as follows:

What happened to the 200 hp or greater rule from the original survey opener?

It is an oversight to exclude the 1975 Hurst Olds (455) and the 1977 Hornet AMX with V8.

Wouldn't the Hurst Olds fall into this category ?

Similar car but a separate model (an HO is not a Cutlass or a 442). Same drivetrain options as Cutlass & 442 so it should be included.

No 78 Cutlass with 305 4 barrel and 4 speed manual trans?

    If I recall correctly Olds built 50 1978 442 4 speed V8 cars.

I owned 1 of them. All were 2bbl 305s. I am not positive but I don't think the 4bbl was available in the Chevy powered Olds line up with the Saginaw 4 speed.

Dang, got the year wrong. Just talked to one of my friends who had owned the car 25+ years ago and it was 1979, not 78.

    Dave,
This was a 79. Black on black with silver 14" olds rally wheels, buckets no console, pw and pl, rallye dash, 305 4 barrel and 4 speed. Friends brother bought it new, friend bought it from his brother, it went through a couple of other friends up to the one i just talked to tonight. he sold it to a guy that worked at fords utica trim plant and lived in metamora, mi and the guy fixed it up very nice. he lost track of the guy so who knows where it is now. I'm friends with the brother of the original purchaser, I'll have to try and tap him for some more info on the car. Got to drive it once and I'll NEVER forget that!

Interesting car. Just an FYI none of the Olds G body manual trans cars came with a console.
