The dash emblem looks to have been touched up it is in great condition.

The part # on the GSX grill emblem package is GE 71 X on the package.
i do not know how to tell which year the GSX emblem is. I was just happy to find one at all.

 

It sounds like it’s for a 71 based on the part number. Can you measure the distance between both mounting pins? I will measure the distance between the mounting holes on a few grilles and we can confirm what year it is for.

Here are the pin placement measurements I took from original grilles:

1970 GS Grille - 2 1/4"
1971 GS grille - 3 5/8"
1972 GS grille - 2 7/8"

The 1970 emblem should have horizontal pin placements, and the 1971/1972 emblems both have offset pin placements.

 

Thanks, the one I have is the 71 design, I had no trouble mounting it in my 72 grill.

Not until actually finally purchasing a 1972 GSX tribute convertible, did I find out that Buick never built a GSX conv. Also how few actual GSX's were actually manufactured!
