I really enjoyed that ZZ 72 when I owned it.
Looks like my interior restoration is holding up well.

Yes, you did a fabulous job, I love the car and so glad I got to care for it for the last 7 years. Wins tons of awards.

That 72 was my very first Buick, a Fred Catlin motor built in mid-90s for Johnny Gribble. B4B, MTs. typical Catlin build for the era.
Hard to believe that the SEM dye job on the ORIGINAL seat backs, aprons, door panels, armrests and bases and headrests is holding up that well!
Glad someone is enjoying that car!

SO they are all original and were white you just re-dyed everything? BTW it now has alittle more motor in it that I built about 5 yrs ago, and I rebuilt the original block to STG1 specs with a TA212 cam and new internals and plastic wrapped and stored so I can send it along to the next owner with the car. Also added the 8-track, found a original STg1 dist. rebuilt it w/Petronix and rebuilt the carb with Cliff R.

Yes indeed, those are original, dyed.
I'm a little saddened to hear this....When I had the car it already had the correct 242 carb and correct stage1 distributor. Sorry you are having to find those again.
That must have happened from the West coast dealer that got a Jasper rebuild. So the original block did not get hurt by that dealer?

No, it had a broken piston, scoring the #8 cylinder badly, so to save it I sleeved all the cylindars. back to standard bore. The dist and wires were Mallory stuff, the carb was still there just needed a complete rebuild and upgrade to match the new engine I built for it a 462 with forged internals and a TA 290-08 cam and roller rockers, makes lots of HP and TQ. Also replaced the back glass that was all scratched from a DA sander, hard to find new ones let me tell ya, and got a AM/FM original radio for it, they had it at the west coast dealer but said it got misplaced and never sent it to me, dicks.

At least you were able to save the block! I wonder where the distributor went? it was converted to a pertronix II inside.
What kind of HP and TQ are you running?
Ah, those deep, deep scratches. They were there when I got the car and believe Johnny Gribble had the car painted about the same time Fred's motor went in. Seems there were some in the bottom of the quarter windows too.
I don't recall, does the sloan show an AM/FM radio? I thought it was AM???

Yea those scratches were bad, and finding a rear window for our cars is like hens teeth, front and sides is easy. Yes it was AM, but I need music so went with a AM/FM and the 8 track which people always notice and say look honey an 8track.....lol. Hav no idea about the dist, sucked paying big for another though. it also only came with steelies and dog dishes, so I got 3 sets of different tires and wheels for it too so I can change up the look and also with GOODYEAR period tires, my SON and I swap all the time just for different looks. I have no idea what HP numbers are, never been to a dyno, but it'll barely lose to my 11.70 Mustang, so I'm giuessing it runs 12.0, with street tires, pulls like a freight train like a BBB should.
