I have recently installed a fi tech efi on my 350. It ran good for the first 80-100 miles but now it doesn’t idle very well and dies when it goes in gear. It goes rich at idle and revs up to 1300 then goes lean and almost dies and just repeats this. I have checked all the electrical connections and vacuum lines.

Connect the handheld and see if any codes maybe
    Double check all connections too

Maybe try and find some YouTube videos with that same problem others have experienced.
    I'll stick with my Holley.

No codes come up on the handheld.

There are many things about the fitech
    I'm sure you'll find something

Grounds and ignition can cause havoc. Also faulty injectors (ask me how I know).

Oxy sensor giving incorrect readings, broken vac line. If this thing runs off a oxy sensor then it is not working correctly, or you got a vac leak that is intermittent screwing with the oxy sensor.

Yeah like Mart said I will stick with my Holley.

do you have the commander thing that converts low pressure to high? basically a lift pump. those have had those issues on the early models.

Those newer cars were designed to work with that system, with warranty no less.

I would check the CTS and see what temp it's reading.

Does FiTech have a data logging feature like the Holley Sniper system does. That would aid you seeing what could be causing the issue.

Yes there is data logging. The best tech support for Fitech are the Facebook groups for them. Other enthusiasts helping each other. Fitech has no good tech support.

I took the fuel pump off and had it tested it work just fine and makes about 70 psi but I can’t get it to work when installed. I have checked all connections and ground wires. Could be a problem with the fi tech unit itself?

I'd assume the fuel pump would have a relay controlled by the computer. I'd check that out.

It has a fuse but I checked the fuse and it’s fine

The FiTech uses the orange wire from the TB ECU to power and control the fuel pump. (TB has an internal relay)
For most cases, it supply's enough power, and in other cases, folks use that orange wire to trigger a relay with heavier gauge wire feeding the pump.

Does the fuel pump not energize at all when connected with the FiTech?

What is/is not happening with key on/run and with key crank?

I have FiTech on both my 1964 and my 1968.

The '64 fuel pump was controlled by external relay and I did not use the FiTech pump driver at all, so pump runs all the time with key power. (I am changing that because I had the pump start acting up after two years, so I'll be installing a new pump and running it from the FiTech driver.

The '68 has had the pump controlled by the FiTech driver and when I key on, the pump primes/charges the fuel rail, then stops after about 3-5 seconds.

The pump is powered by the orange wire, it ran fine for the first 100 miles and then start going lean and progressively got worse to the point now it won’t turn on, this happened it a span of 5 miles driving back home

    OK.
Internal or external pump? Brand and model?

And if I understand, you can supply 12v to the pump (separate from the FiTech unit) and the pump will run?
Do you have fuel pressure gauge?
How is the fuel pressure regulated?
Deadhead or return from the Fitech?
Or return at the pump back to the tank?

Check the orange wire and see what voltage it is producing. IIRC the FiTech will turn on with 9v by default.
