I went out to IRP on Wednesday night for test and tune .Got one pass and went a soft start 12.56 @112.04 the 60 ft was a 2.07 .Very happy with the numbers considering the soft launch.
Went back to the track at US41 last night .Made 4 more passes air was around 1600 ft .I messed up the first pass went 12.95 @112 .Went right back to the line and went a 12.28 @112.48 with a 1.89 60 ft . Let it cool down for a while and went 12.24 @112.78 with a 1.91 60 ft . On that pass couldn't read the tach after first gear it was to dark .Let it cool again and spun hard and went a 12.73 @ 110 . Cant wait until a nice sunny day with some decent air and track prep. I know a low 1.80 to low 1.70 60 ft could make me very happy . :3gears:

Beautiful car! Nice to see an all original car still being put to use. My father had a 67 GT Fastback tucked away in the barn for many yrs, he sold it in the mid 90's just before he passed away to a fella in Vt. That car had the 390/4spd and from the stories i have heard through the yrs from his friends the car was one of the quickest around back in the day. He also had a 68 GT-500 and a 1970 Fastback that he bought new from a dealer in LI in 1970. The 70 Fastback was a 302/auto that he gave his mother and the GT-500 had the 428CJ/4spd with 4.56/detroit in the rear. The dealer was using it as a demo at the local drag strip so when he bought it the car had slicks on the rear, open headers and the engine had been worked. He tried to drive it on the street but he said in no way was it streetable in a sensible way. He sold it to his best friend who still has it storage in LI. Last i knew the car had sat covered in a barn all restored since the late 80's.

/\/\/\ It would be cool to track down your late Father's friend to see if he does still have the Mustang. Then make arrangements to go and get pics of it. Who knows, he may want to even sell it to you.

Steve, you might want to confirm the opening time for the track. Their Facebook page indicates that they are opening at noon this late in the season.

US 41 Motorplex I understand that's is what is printed. But since only owning it since Jan we realized later in the season we have to start later colder overnight temps and morning fog and dew.

I called it is noon because the dew takes time to get off the track this time of year.Free tech cards all we would have to pay is a spectator fee of $12 to run.

I posted the pic of your car on Concours Mustang, Steve. A couple guys recognized it and knew you. BTW, I don't even own a Mustang. I just found the site by accident.
