I have been broke for a while .

I have a bone stock 1970 Buick 350 2bbl (now 4bbl, but only mod) i need a posi with a gear better than the 2:56 gears, 8.2 rear that is as it sat in 1970, but nothing crazy so I can cruise at 65 -70. I know this is a tall order. I will need them installed and set up, because the is beyond my skill level. Any information would be great.

350's respond well to gearing. Go for a 3.42 IMHO if you want to wake that engine up. Decent cruising RPM (use an online calculator w/your tire size to determine). If RPM too high go for as high as you can. That is unless you plan on an OD trans (200-4R) in the future which allows for a very high (numerically) rear & has a steep OD for cruising.

Talk to @BrianTrick about setting a rear up for you. Prob. be better/cheaper/stronger going to a '71-up 8.5 rear.

    Derek,

I agree with Dan....3.42's are an excellent choice.

Derek where are you located...."I got a guy", just depends on your lactation?

I live near Erie also and have a posi rear out of a 70 Skylark 350-2. Think it is 2 series gears though.

You should talk to Jim, he goes by monzaz on V8. He is in Richfield, Ohio. He built my 3.64. I highly recommend him.
