The SP3 for sure "gets it" , definitely no downsides to this intake.
From what I noticed the plugs color evenly, compared to the DP.

Did you notice that the tach went from 2500- 5500 in about 1 sec. It flashed to 5 grand, then rolled to 5500 goes fast don't it? By the time you hit 2nd you were at 6 grand. Now you need to bury the tack and shift.

Looks like you just left it in drive and let the trans shift it for you. Now you need a Quicksilver shifter banging that is as easy as hitting the lever. Better than using that column shifter.

Sounds like you can shift at 6200 easily.

It wasn't done revving yet, especially out of second gear.

Sounds real good, can't wait for slow a** Mart to start rolling. :p

I don't know if its the cam (probably not, its not a big cam) I think its the SP3 that the engine REALLY starts pulling.....maybe 3500, and up, it just keeps pulling, pulling, pulling, that's the scary part, where does it end:eek::eek:

It IS crazy how fast the revs climb!
I set the governor to shift about 6 grand awhile back. At the track I let it autoshift 1-2, then hold it manually in second to 6 grand, then manually shift to third. For some reason it will autoshift at 5500 from 2-3.
In that video, I was going up Rockside road...… going uphill, I backed out close to 90 mph, didn't wanna chance it.
Next run, Im hooking up that Autometer Sport Comp tach, see how that compares to the factory one.

Well, you won't find that out by leaving it in drive!:D

when I had the Skyhawk car with the d/p, it would climb ok. the first i tried my s/p, it was WOW! launched at 3500 and it would scream to 7500, shift, a slight drop in rpm and climb right back to 7500. the first time it caught me off guard. WOW after that. wonder why I say to get a rev limiter.
again, put like some 4:56's in it and hang on. :D:D

I think you should go back to the DP intake, and sell the SP to Mart. Your not taking it past 6 grand so you might as well pull it off and sell it. :p:D

I took mine to 6200 with a cam that was washed up by 5800 with the DP intake and my 24+ year old motor.

If you think you have that thing up to 10.5 comp spin it to 6500 you have better rods and pistons than I do

It will either go or blow :)

Should have put in that 2004 trans and a 411 gear.

I was told the 2bbl would have more velocity and be a terror out of the hole. That is what I heard anyways.

Going to rain this weekend that will wash off all the salt and you won't spin those stock tires Ha Ha, yeah right lol.

Probably decent carbs, but Im sure you'd have to do ALOT of tuning with only two barrels to work with.
