I recently bought my first Buick (1974 Apollo) it’s pretty rough right now. I have always been a GM guy, previously owned (83 Cutlass, 73 Nova, 77 C/10, 89 Z 28, 79 Trans Am, 64 C/10, 2002 Trans Am WS6). When I decided to get a project for the first time in years I was looking for another Nova bc that’s what I had in high school and I really loved that car. When I saw the Apollo something clicked for some reason. Maybe it’s bc I had left Buick out and finally realized it or maybe it was the prospect of building something truly different that made me pull the trigger. Anyways I look forward to learning the Buick motor and I appreciate everyone that contributes information in this group, it has already helped me out a ton. Ben
Welcome to the family Ben...the Buick Family and the V-8Buick Family. I've always had an Apollo on my bucket list so I think it's a good choice! Tons of available Nova stuff will interchange too. Good Luck with everything. Keep us updated with pics and plans too.
Almost bought a new one in 1974 for my Dad...had order speced out. Buckets, Buick 350-4, 3.08 posi, gauge package, PW. Cancelled and ended up ordering a 76 Nova a few years later with same options except not Buick motor of course. Thought the Nova was fast at the time.... 15.87...I bet the Buick would have been a bit quicker.....
