I ordered a cross over block off kit from T/A last week to put in and stop the intake from going brown but I may wait until next year to install if all is running good now. Next year I am considering either going with a set of T/A Stage 1 street eliminator heads and headers or a gear vendor overdrive. Can only invest so much at a time!

My goal is to have a 500 hp cruiser that offers reasonable fuel economy!

Got the car all washed up and took the girls out for drive and dinner! The Fitech is working well! Slight off idle stumble but only if your easing away from a light. It was probably a good 45-50 min to the restaurant the car felt and sounded very happy! Pulls hard through the gears and the throttle responce when you hit it hard is instant!

Took The Buick on a 350 mile trip yesterday. The hole car performed perfectly! The FiTech worked great. Tweaked the timing control a bit. Averaged 14.3 Us mpg running 65-70 mph with the A/C on the hole day. Ran at 183-188 deg 0 hesitation from lights. Crisp throttle response to pass and on hills etc. I think its pulling harder at W.O.T too.

I am very Happy with it!

Can anyone running a 455 in a bigger car with A/C and no overdrive let me know what your mpg is so I can gauge if what I am getting is good bad average?

I'm a little short on your specifics, and I also don't know if you're looking for a mpg number with a 455 with fuel injection, but my 76 Electra during my last 200 mile trip to mom's house came in at 12.4 miles per gallon. That is with no A/C though. That is with a ta 212 cam, 430 heads, 32 degrees total timing and 91 octane.

Thanks Bill I am running a T/a 290 94H cam with 73 heads performer intake, 25cc pistons and at cruse I am running 43 degrees advance. With the fuel injection I installed an MSD distributor and am using the timing control.

Note that when I checked the mileage I was driving to get the best number I could. Probably never pushed past 1/4 throttle

I'd have expected higher advance than that. Maybe I'm wrong.

The system only allows 30 degrees from base to full advance. So cranking is at 13 so its out of adjustment at 43 and it cuts down to 32 at W.O.T

That's clearly a problem with the ignition programming. FiTech needs to fix that.

Had the Buick on the road for another 6 hour road trip to take my daughter to Grandma and Grandpa's for the week. Again it ran flawlessly! I am so impressed at how consistent it runs in comparison to the carb. It runs exactly the same when its only 50 degrees out in the early morning as it does when its in the mid 90's in the high of the afternoon.

It's nice to see good reviews on these. I have spoken with a couple of guys that put these on BBC's and they hated them. I honestly wonder if they just didn't grasp the learning or setup process of them?

Besides all the EFI basics that some people miss I think the Buicks front mounted distributor helps keep wires routed away from the distributor and plug wires which cuts down on some of the electrical noise problems. That said I've seen PLENTY of Ford guys with noise issues but hey, it's a Ford, you rolled the dice when you bought it! :)

With a distributor and any electronic spark advance or retard you are limited in the number of degrees possible before you have cross firing.
