Okay, forget about the door panels, no one seems to be able to help. Back to the main topic . Have new information on our factory style Tri Shield floor mats!!!! I spoke at length with the owner of Legendary today, as well as his Product Developement Manager, and they issued me the Product Development number and address to send the mats too!!! This is a MAJOR step. The owner also once again encouraged me that he will offer these in their own colors (these will NOT be exact, but a good general color). He even said they'd make them in clear if you wanted them that way (go figure!). I took the time to go through and scan every color available to us out of the color samples book they sent also. I didn't want to release these till we were getting closer, and I think this is a good turning point time, so here they go! Okay, NOW..........on to the mat colors that will be offered!!!! Hope you can see them okay:TU:
OK John, I have a deal for you. They were the door panels out of my 70 GS. They are white, no major rips, screw holes along the bottom are a little elongated and need the metal curved strips at the top that attach to the cardboard backing type material. All I ask for is the shipping cost!
Carl, You ARE the man!!! I cannot say Thank You enough! That is all I need are the skins anyway as I have the backing boards and metal part. You have REALLY made my evening, if you will please PM me or email me your address directly I'll be happy to cover the shipping costs. Do you have all four or just the front door panels? This is really great, Thank You VERY much Sir.
Another way eveyone can help is to keep this thread at the top of the post's ("TTT" To The Top). Once they agree officially to making our mats we will need about 150 initial orders so we need to maintain interest and make sure all are kept informed please.:TU:
How about we start calling and emailing today? Perhaps if we started calling and leaving our names and sending emails saying what color mats we wanted etc. they would be encouraged to proceed... Legendary 1 800 363 880 sales@legendaryautointeriors.com Good Work Mr. Fritz! Bert
Hi Bert, Well, I have had to call and e mail them pretty frequently so I wouldn't want to overwhelm them (had to basically beg them to fit us into their already hectic scheudule). Your idea is good though if we do it in a way they approve of. I can call them Monday and ask them how they want to prove our numbers or maybe even preorder(?). Wouldn't want to swamp them with calls unless they want them though.I have kept them aware of the number of views on this and the other floor mat thread though ( over 6,000 for the two threads on this!) and they were definitely impressed. Let's find out how they want us to do it though first :TU:
Would not want to offend them. Perhaps you are correct, I certainly would not want to offend or swamp them. On the other hand, the marketing and sales department executives would be jumping up and down, screaming and hollering and running up and down the halls with the sales forecast if they could project a huge sales increase in the near future... See Dilbert: after all that is what the marketing dept.does. Bert
Yeh, if you want to call them and say you "got wind of it,and how cool that is" or whatever I guess that might work. Don't act TOO desparate though:laugh: I have been doing all I can to encourage them to keep our price low:beer
Just wanted to take the time to Thank Carl on this thread for his generosity. He donated the two front door panel skins to my project along with assorted hardware, for just covering shipping:TU: Was very kind of you Carl, and I hope you will allow me to return the favor some day on items you are in need of. At this point I want to see if I can recruit a few people to help spread the news to other Buick websites about the mats, and ask them to start their own group order , or provide a link to the group order here (preferred so we can keep it in one spot). Some people have asked if I needed any help on this, so there it is, and it would be appreciated . Please post an update here when you have informed other websites that you think can help us reach our numbers we will need. Definitely can use the help:beer And PLEASE if you have any ideas on anything please feel free to share them,I will tell you right now I do not, claim to be an expert at this kind of thing, just kind of got sucked into it and have been going ever since. Kinda like the quote "I am gonna do SOMETHING, even if it is wrong!"ou: I know we have some very experienced people on this board so please do not worry about stepping on my toes, I would welcome the help:TU: I have the "cold from hell" working on me, so I'll check back in, when I am not feeling like crud to ya'lls suggestions. Thanks fellas
Hey Fritz, how about posting your pay pal acount info so us good folks want to drop a ferw bucks your way to help with the utility bills and other costs you undoubtably have into this massive undertaking, and likely more you will incurr? Let's suport this cause guys:TU:
Hank, On your questionon the application for a 66 Riv. I personally run Skylark mats in my 60 Electra and the fit is fine. There are several different part numbers for the Skylark mats over the years we discovered while we researched what was correct for the GS's. I have had the sample mats boxed for so long I do not recall whether they had the factory note on the back as some style mats with flaps had stating "trim here for Electra,La Sabre,Wildcat,Riv etc. I told Legendary of the need for full size Buicks also and they said they'd see how things go on the mid size car (Skylarks) mat first and then discuss full size applications. Personally I will be using the new one's in my full size cars as well as the Skylark because they work fine in my 1960 Electra. Don't want to tell you these would be 100% correct with out reviewing all our notes on this thread again but I do not see why they wouldn't work out just fine . Might want to review the threads around page 3 or 4 where there was some decent disscussion on this. ***Correction: the information on that topic was in page 1 and beyond on this other thread on the topic **** http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?t=111203&highlight=mats Wish I had a more definitive answer but with all the different parts number over the years, full size car mats, mid size car mats with full size car explanations on the back etc etc it get's pretty confusing. Best thing to do to keep it simple, is just find even a worn out original mat and put it in your car and see if you like the fit.
