I’m taking my super 10s off my newly built 350. Since adding headers it’s foolish loud. Was told not much difference from 44s so my speed shop suggested 50s. Will I loose performance from less flow? Or not noticeable? Thoughts?

44's will be noticeably quieter than 10's as 10's are a very short single chamber. 50's will indeed be mellower still. As much as I hate to say this as I love the flowmaster sound (when I got my Buick in high school I put on 40's and run summit brand 44 copies now), if you're super concerned with flow/power, flowmasters aren't the best choice. There are lots of independent tests out there showing they make less power than other turbo-style mufflers. I actually put magnaflows on my car after the resto, but I just missed the memories/nostalgia that flowmaster sound gave me. FWIW, the summit copy of super 44s I have now on my car with long tubes aren't what I consider obnoxiously loud inside. They are as loud as I'd care to go, but won't rattle your brains out of your head either (though I don't do long road trips in the car, so that may change my opinion if I did, I don't know). Granted "loud" is a VERY subjective term and many will have varying opinions on that, there is no right or wrong answer, just different. But anyway, just my 2 cents.

No that’s was exactly insight i enjoy from members and car enthusiast. I’m 44..father of one and husband. I hopped on car other day wife was pissed. It’s LOUD. I live kinda in very county area and local law isn’t so cool on noise. Is there a big diff from 44 to 50s?

The only vehicle I personally had 50's on was an 01 Silverado (5.3), but with the manifolds, catalytic converter and being a single it dual muffler that's not really an apples to apples comparison so I don't think that's relevant. A friend had them on a 65 Chevy truck with a 454 and longtube headers, they were definitely mellower than my 44's, but again, slightly different arrangement altogether. They did sound really nice though for what it's worth.

Look at the Hooker Aero Chambers, chambered sound but without the backpressure

Thanks folks. All sound advice. I guess something i haven’t considered is this. I’ve learned the Buick 350s like more carb...like the 750Qjet...SBC like like less carb in some applications. Is there a muffler these SBB like? Or is it really kinda minner deal in my application, being it’s just slightly built street machine. Has built heads, Cam, headers, intake and carb...but hardly a 1/4 mile rig

I would think the 50's would be much less aggressive sounding then the 10's, maybe a little to much.
The super 44's, are a nice sounding muffler IMO with a deeper tone that might be a good compromise for you.

3 chamber Flowmasters are very nice for me. Quiet while cruising with slight drone but sound great when you're on it.

Listen to my YouTube link in my signature.
Of course big Cam and more compression.

I had dual 50s and front to back stainless 2 1/2" pipes put on my big block Suburban many years ago. Outside the truck it sounded great and inside it was fine, not annoyingly loud, at least not on relatively short trips. I would use them again but not on a Suburban used for long trips. Being a station wagon style truck, exhaust sounds tend to resonate inside much more than a car would and it did reach that annoying level on our trips to Florida. My hopes were that they would help the gas mileage. Nope, didn't happen. 11mpg was all that thing was ever intended to do unless it was being hauled on a flatbed.

I’ve got an American thunder on my 2016 ram hemi. Just enough bark and sound. If Buick has a tad more then that I’d be happy.

I liked the sound of the old "Hush Thrush" mufflers. Is there anything comparable today?

I think i had a set on a 68 Firebrid 400 in 92. Sounded much faster then it was. Had the cherry bombs in a built k10 blazer 350...sounded like these 10s.

Dynomax Super Turbos # 17749 (it used to be 177249, I thought) for a 2 1/2" system. Nice, deep tone without the drone...

I have the Spintech Super Pro Street 9000 Muffler--It is loud- there is some drone, but it is not that bad-I also have not made a 3-4hr road trip in it- that might change my mind about the mufflers--around town and cruising, it sounds so good- I don't listen to the radio in the Buick anymore

Yeah man. My car is like abrasive and obnoxious loud. Too much and I dig nice sounding rides.

This won't necessarily give you a 100% answer, but at least to compare tones here's my car with magnaflows then when I replaced them with the summit super 44 clones.

    Magnaflows

    44's

I have a 350 with headers, cam, SP3 and Flowmaster 44s. My wife rolls her eyes whenever I fire up the Buick. And my daily is a Coyote 5.0 with cat-back exhaust. Buick is MUCH louder than my Mustang.

Pypes makes a Turbo Style muffler that I had on my car before the Flowmasters....they were quite a bit quieter...which is why I went with the 44s :D
