we've only been able to flush out a handful of supposedly "happily" married men.

eh, i'm married? when did that happen? and where's my hot supper damnit!

    [crickets]

oh well, you know what they say: "A man chases a woman until she catches him".

I am conducting my own informal psychological study of men and their behaviors.

i was considering donating my fabulous body to science ... but now i have to consider the possibility that Annie might wind up with it. :spank:

Hmm..isn't that what "Forum" is all about? Written submissiveness? :Brow:

Psychological, not Biological. You body is of no use to me dead - I'm not into necrophilia. And just what, exactly, is so fabulous about your body?

    Do share!

Ahhh, bested at my own game. Note to self: proofread for innuendo before sending messages.

Perhaps submissiveness, but there are other scenarios.....it all depends on which niche market the writer is trying to reach! :eek2:

    Welcome to they jungle, Wagonmaster74!

That's why I'm looking for a rich man. None of the guys I've been with can keep up with me and I'm tired of paying for or loaning guys money for them to be able to buy parts they want for their car! :Dou:

Have you talked to Ann about a gathering of us single Buick women for a weenie roast? I plan on coming up that way for some of the events (without car) just not sure which ones. I would really like the company of some WOMEN that can talk cars and drink beer! :beer :TU: Plus, I'm ready to tear up on some of those womanizing men at the bars! Don't think I'll find my good one in a bar but it wouldn't hurt to try!

    Oh Really!

Dee, you are right on about having a gathering of us, Buick women, but sounds like we won't find what we are lookin for in TX or MI! But we should plan a place where we can meet this year and take names and show'em what we are all about, racing, showing our Buicks and kicking butt in both.

Many years ago, I was in the mist of divorce from a tried and true Buick dude, that didn't want to work for $$, but still wanted to get his cars done, and well, that's a long story too. I made a comment to another friend that also had a husband that had a GS, and to several others(women) that were married and had their own Buicks, that we maybe should start a "home for wayward Buick women", Like a mansion, bed and breakfast sized place where there would be garages for all our Buicks, and we each would have our own big stinking bedroom, but we could share the kitchen and the 'working garage'.
That was a dream that I invented, and still think it might work. But then, we would really intimidate the 'Boys' and never get them to other side to be there when we need 'em! AKA for the heavy stuff, like pulling heads, replacing a trans or even changing the oil! Cleaning the yard, cutting the grass, and more. We'd have to do it all, and in alot of cases, we do or can do it all anyway! So, for the most part, I plan on staying single, trying to make myself happy racing, doing the club's websites, and end up being like the skeleton girls, cuz unless there's some dudes out there that don't want to compete with us, but they want to be great "husbands" that support and still can do their own thing, and then WE can support them at the same time. Nothing changes.
BLAH, BLAH you've already heard it too many times. So we go on, doing what we do.
But by the way, there are at least three or four Buick women and there are more but these come to mind, that have the support and backing of their husbands or Dad, Leanne Gray, Sandy Paine, Renee Moore and Kylie, Have all kicked my butt, in Ladies Races, and that's cuz they have the support from their "MEN". That I think it is really cool, to race a Buick and WIN!
That's what it's all about! BUICKS RULE!

Sounds like Dee is trying to be in Salem, I'm planning on it. We could set up something there.
Then all the men would accuse us of being lesbians!!
Personally I think they are best at Carcass Control. I shoot critters, they clean up.
Amen, sister! And anything I can't do myself, I pay to have done! And if you ask me, I think that's part of the problem, they don't feel 'needed' when we can do it ourselves.
If I was as skinny as the skeleton girls, I'd probably have a boyfriend! But I wouldn't have enough power to keep his butt in line! :blast:

I say we pool our resources and buy a herd of lumberjacks from wherever they grow lumberjacks - or even some of those guys from the World's strongest Man show, or a gaggle of Irish guys (yeah, they come in a gaggle, look it up). Looks like we'd better save up, the importation fees are going to be horrendous. Then they would be
    COMING TO AMERICA!!(bait)

    Go, Ladies, GO!!

When JR picked up my SC yesterday :ball: he recommended Norwalk and said that's Roberta's event. JR sure has a nice Chevy pick up! :Brow:

I'm going to sit down with my calendar this weekend and see where I want to go. It depends on the time stretch between the events, who will be attending up there (I need some women to BS with, not just the guys) from up north and from down here, etc.

I won't be bringing my car since I don't have a truck and trailer. If I drove it, the gas $$$ would kill me. So, to be able to hopefully make it to as many events as possible, I'm going to drive my new little 4 cylinder. Yep, I finally gave in and got a 4 cylinder car. My friends can't believe it. Maybe when I meet my rich man, he'll already have a truck and enclosed trailer waiting for me so I can take my car in the coming years. Right now, I just want to go places, see people and save gas all at the same time.

The Womens Buick Commune sounds like a good idea to me. I already do it all: Fix the cars, do all the yard work on 2 houses, fix and make improvements to my houses, etc., etc., but there is one thing I can't do by myself that I miss. I'm not going to say what it is because I'll get in trouble on this family forum. It's like the old Coke commercial....I like the "real thing" and there's only one way to get that. Plus, I'll never go to the "other side".

I've done my own Chevy 350 head one time when I was young and able (and in shape). I pulled it to check to see if the wing nut that my husband dropped down the carb. didn't do too much damage to one of the cylinders. So I pulled it, pulled out 3 pieces of wing nut, cylinder was ok, new gasket and I put the head back on. A '79 Z28 is a lot easier to do a head on that a Buick though.

So women, we can do it alone. If I can do this stuff being 5'2" and 118 pounds, then anyone of us women can do it. Just have to get creative in the way you do things. Leverage works great when lifting heavy stuff.

I've never had a man actually support me in doing my car stuff. Usually they just said go do what you want to do and left it at that. I'm still waiting for my rich Buick guy that wants to get our big enclosed trailer and dually pick up to pull our Buicks and head to all the Buick events each year to race. Oh the dream of it all!!!! :3gears: :3gears: :3gears:

You girls just need to get after me to get to working on my GS. I need to get out there and pull the tank so I can fix the problem I have so I can run the 1/4 mile instead of just 1/8 mile. Last weekend I at least crawled up under there and looked at it. That's progress!!!! :TU:

    Dee,

Unless they throw me in the hospital at those times, I plan at being at both Norwalk & Salem. We can all hang around then. Except I'm not standing too close to you! 118 lbs? Good gawd, woman - my clothes weigh that much! :eek2: Ah well, you can bait them in, pick through them, and I'll deal with the leftovers! HA!

And about that thing that we don't want to mention openly in the family forum: just remember that you can get that anywhere. At least quantity, not necessarily quality! Even I could, in a moment of desperation, go loiter at the fine establishment "The Family Tavern" in historic downtown Oakley (across the street from the grain elevator!) and be guaranteed to be the best looking woman there. (I have all my teeth! ) But I'd have to be pretty dang desperate!

I don't think I could ever live in a place called a 'commune'. I'm much too conservative for that! :bglasses:

Gotta love Rosie the Riveter! :TU:

I am beginning to think that we are putting way too much thought into this and overcomplicating the issue. Besides, there must be better subjects to dedicate our minds to - like making our own riches and subsequent world domination!

I've got to get my calendar out and see how close Norwalk and Salem are in time frames. Isn't one in August and the other June?

I thought we already had world domination!!!!

Ooops, I wasn't suppose to tell so the guys could see, was I? :Dou: :spank:

    Oh My!

So Dee, you had a close encounter of the JR kind and he told you that Buick Raceday in Norwalk, OH was my event, and he who has to be obeyed by his younger Bro, Skylarkwilly, who is the "Better Half" of Buick Raceday, would say, it's our event, not Roberta's, as would I, Bill handles the racing part with the great folks at Norwalk Raceway Park, where the track personnel actually fight over who gets to work on the Buick event, cause they think we are the best group they have there from all the other club events, no doubt, we have the best racers and the best performing race cars in the world, and all Buick racers are the best, anyway! And I handle the admistration part in advertising, pre-entry forms, collecting the pre-entry funds, and getting the some of the sponsors, Bill helps out with this stuff too, so he who should listen, JR, should not speak unless we, let him, but we let him promote the event cause, he should. So I would say, you should plan on coming to Norwalk, June 1-4, 2006. and we also usually have a great showing of Ladies racing Buicks, Leanne Gray, with the 350 powered Buford, Sandy Paine in her GSX, Renee Moore in her '70 GS, myself in the '70 Skylark Race car and several others. We have a Ladies Race and then many of us join in the main bracket race too! It's good fun at the race track and evening fun at the hotel and dinner on Saturday is always almost as good as racing! :3gears:

The Detector is pegged now! Starting to smoke~ And stop trying to change the subject to avoid the question.

It's been a while, it's going to take more than a 'little' bump to fix it :spank:
