the first one is 1970 riv with 455 ENG and TH 4oo trany, second one is 71 or 72 riv with the same combo,
The 71/72 was without engine, the back half was rusted and smashed completely beyond anything salvagable.
Yes!! There were 3 corvairs in this small yard of about 15 cars. here's one that was completely grown over with underbrush...I almost missed it.
Those Corvairs should be saved. After seeing that hot rodded yellow one somewhere on here several weeks back, I think they make outstanding rods.
What do you mean "window delete option"? OH....DER...I get it now...it took a few minutes ou: I call it poor mans air conditioning! heres another pic
I've seen too many 71's with 72 grilles and the other way around...... Boothlid with louvres is always a better way to check the model year:
I dont even know who owns them...It looks like an abandoned body shop with a junk yard out back. Nobody ever around. I just happened to drive by and spotted the 70 out front near the road. It's a shame to let them sit there and get vandalized and weathered. I'll ask around and try to find out what the deal is on the owner. I would love to go in and get parts for someone who needs them.
The big difference between the 70 and the 71 drivetrains is the change over to the long shaft TH400 in 71. Also the rear ends are different and if the 70 has a posi... or a 3.42 or higher gear, I'm sure that the 2nd Gen Riv crowd would love to get their hands on that. Nothingelse cool I can think of about the 70 that anyone would want especially unless they are restoring one. Just a heads up,
