Im bringing a 77 Riviera back to life. I'm into the ATC system. New compressor, new condenser, new accumulator, flush the evaporator...I was looking for new hose assemblies...I found them! Dealer in New Bethlehem PA had the NOS Genuine GM part. This is not an official "plug" but....I used www.partsvoice.com to search dealer inventories. QUESTION...anyone have an extra dash control head for the automatic temperature control system in a 77 to 79 B/C Buick?

    WOW! Nice find! :TU:
Don't toss the old hoses though, They can be rebuilt. Pass that old compressor on, too.
I'm not familiar with the ATC system (internally) on those Riv's, but they were sweet when those cars were newer. The chance of finding a working control head is pretty slim because the rubber seals inside fail with age and wear (I hope you get lucky, though).
Have you looked into getting yours rebuilt? I had a couple of Caddy ATCs rebuilt a few years ago, I'll dig up the info for you if I can find it. It was a bit pricy, but it "is" an option if all else fails. I'm thinking about $400.

It sounds like you're doing your system up "more than" right. Good Job. :TU:

Last night I assembled the system, vacuumed it down and filled with R-12 (the evil stuff). No leaks!!!!! Ambient temp was about 40 so all I could test was the heat side of the ATC system. All of the vacuum switching to the various doors works as it should. Shop manual is pointing towards an electrical connection problem with the programmer though. I'm hoping it's just dirt on contacts or a disconnected wire. This weekend I'll run the heat out there to get it up to 75 or so to finish the diag. I've identified the complete control head as a 7896074 fitting B/C 77 to 80 and just the programmer as a 16000764 fitting B/C 77 to 81. If you could post the rebuilder...I might need the info. Thanks,
