    BUICKRAT Got any treats?

Ordinary table salt, Fritzenitchen. Rub it onto the affected areas with your palm, let it dry. PI be gone. Old Indian remedy, has worked like a charm for me. (My wife is part Blackfeet.) I actually rub it in till it bleeds, sprinkle on more salt and let dry.

Ahhh hah, the ole rubbing salt into the wound? Hmmmmm...the cure might be worse than the malady it sounds like lol

I got a really bad case of this in Spring. Our RN daughter suggested Zanfel poison Ivy wash. After the first use, I saw immediate improvement. This is after 7 days of pink dust all over my chair from Calamine, aggravation and scratching. I used it 2 more times on small areas not 100% from the first wash. I highly recommend this stuff, even for the cost.

Too late now, but the best thing to do is wash the supposed affected area as soon as possible with Dawn detergent. It will minimize or even stop the rash because it removes the oils that cause the rash.

I'd heard the DAWN treatment, and did use it in lukewarm water, so as not to irritate the area before it was oozing. I must just be absolutely TOO sensitive... (Hey Fritzee, you believe that I am sensitive, right? RIGHT???)

I like the idea of the Zanfel...have to remember that. Benedryl can help reduce the inflammation and itch. I grew up on a farm and have accidentally mowed or weed whacked my fair share. Ugh...

Okay, that’s two votes for Zanfel, so gonna have to try that today, this calamine doesn’t seem to be doing anything but make me look like an aboriginal smeared in mud for sunblock.
Hell,I might try the salt too, even if it stings I can handle that but this constant desire to itch over a large area is about to drive me bonkers.
    Thanks for the suggestions .

Dear Fritz, I feel for you buddy! A few years ago I was pulling some PI out of the trees in my backyard. I was wearing shorts with no shirt on. The neighbor came out and said, "John, you know what that stuff is?" I said, "Don't worry Randy, I'm not allergic to it." Nothing happened to me that day, but when I woke up in the morning to take a pee I couldn't believe what I saw in my hand!!!!!! First thing I thought was, "I have NEVER cheated on my wife!!!" OMG!!! It was the nastiest thing I had ever seen in my hand! Looked like I had come across, (pun intended), some very nasty prostitutes and caught every STD they had. Lesson to be learned... My hands and arms are NOT allergic to PI, but Little John certainly is! Good luck buddy!!!

So when I was about 30, I had been all over in the woods and done all kinds of stuff in brushy areas and never had poison ivy so I figured I was not allergic.

I went pulling that stuff up by hand behind a house I bought. Turns out I was allergic.

My mom used to soak a rag in gasoline & rub it on the affected areas & around them. Most was gone the next day.

No,she never smoked a day in her life. I must say that it did work & rather quickly. From what I've been told the gasoline dries the oils very quickly. Funny thing is I don't remember it burning or stinging at all, BUT then again it was usually was done BEFORE we statred scracthing.

Yeah, but that was when gasoline was REAL, with REAL lead in it. Not this unleaded, ethanol 10% oxygenated, vapor-recovery system mouse pee that we are forced to use...

Wonder how lacquer thinner would work? Remember that drying my hands out pretty bad when I was painting most everyday when I had a life
