anyone add a fuel pressure gauge inline with a stock Rochester and fuel lines? I would like to but not sure of the best way, I have a stainless hard line from the fuel pump up to the carb.

Yes, I have. It has to be an electrical gauge as you don't want fuel inside the passenger compartment. I have Autometer,

The sender has 1/8 NPT threads. You would need to plumb in a tap to mount the sender. Here is a picture of the sender attached to my Holley DP. With my QJ, it sits right in front of the carburetor.

I have braided -6AN fuel line between pump and carburetor. For the QJ, I used a Russell (670340)fitting with a tap for the sender.

You can convert to a braided line between the stock fuel pump and carburetor. All you need are a couple of conversion fittings. Let me know if you want to go that way.

Here's another way. I removed the steel line from the Stage 1 pump to the quadrajet, cut out about a 5 inch section about in the middle and installed a hose barb T fitting. Off the center AN fitting of the T comes a 4 ft section of braided fuel hose with a Summit liquid filled pressure gauge on the end that I either run under the driver's side wiper or duct tape to the windshield so I can monitor while cruising. I use it for testing and, once done, I can remove the braided line and cap it off. Larry's method is better (and more costly) f you want to monitor FP from inside the car and, my method is more stock appearing unless you look very carefully down next to the fuel pump.

OK, what you need to do is make up a line with -6AN fittings on both ends. You can use push lok, teflon lined, or conventional steel braided hose, your choice. If you want, you can incorporate a fuel filter into that hose, or you can continue to use the QJ filter.

To convert the fuel pump and QJ to AN fittings, you'll need 2 of these conversion fittings,

    https://quadrajetparts.com/fuel-inlet-adapter-fitting-p-369.html

One screws into the fuel pump outlet, the other into the filter housing of the QJ. Then your hose attaches between fuel pump and QJ.

To use the Autometer electrical fuel pressure gauge, you'll need this fitting with a 1/8 NPT tap.

    https://www.amazon.com/Russell-670340-Anodized-Aluminum-Pressure/dp/B000CPILAE

That fitting goes right in front of the QJ, it attaches directly to your conversion fitting. Then just screw the Autometer sender into it.

I added a fuel gauge, but you need to raise the hood to read it. :p
