I am selling this car for a widow friend: ANYBODY INTERESTED? 1970 NEWPORT CONVERTIBLE... 1 of just 1100 ever produced: On ebay: 282612234873 I should prolly put this in CARS/LEADS SECTION...huh. Wheelz, Tampa Bay
Newport? Ohhhh yes!!!!Would you accept bone marrow as a down payment!?! That is the same size as my secret 70 Hurst Fury convertible dream! 440 car?
Here is my other secret lusty car.......P-71 Interceptor! Imagine the fun alone of just sitting around pointing a hairdryer out the window at rice burners and then zooming up on them. "Do NOT exit the vehicle, slowly open the door and set all of your beer carefully on the ground and proceed DIRECTLY home citizen!!!"
Well, I am going to bed with dreams of boiling tires and dual HOWLING ENGINES! My last choice for Saturday .......how insane would that be to steer?
I would like a to own a Dyna Panhard: And then I'd get the later generation of the same car: It's cuz I have an affection for Citroen: I also dig early Euro headlights, like on this Ford Taunus:
Mike, a couple of years ago I saw one of these in downtown Bessemer. It was in a private museum , it was a Monday , the museum was closed. But, I saw it theough the window. Let me try to remember where it was in Bessemer.
Well Diego, I have to admire your taste in bizarre cars, it beats mine hands down. I take my hat off to you, a Panhard Dyna has to be the weirdest or funkiest thing to have ever graced a road. The only thing stranger would be a Messerschmidt or a Goggomobil. The last Panhard Dyna I ever saw was in an old salvage yard in a town that no longer exists outside of Vegreville Alberta about 25 years ago. I almost bought it, but when we went to move it it split in half. Too bad; a very unique and weird car. Apparently quite quick too. Then there's that Ford...forgot how ugly they were... Ah yes, the Ford Taunus; - my grandfather had one as his first car. He bought it "well loved" or brutally used. They were affectionately known as the "Badewanne", or bathtub. Had a few interesting times and ended up in some pretty strange places in that 'wanne...most of them were on the side of an Autobahn waiting for a breakdown truck from ADAC. Those cars weren't all that good, from what I remember. Thanks for the memories!
It might have been the 'Bessemer Hall of History' in the old Bessemer Passenger Train station.' But, I'm thinking it was in a store front on First Ave or Alabama Ave near the museum.
Thanks James, I'll check it out. Here is a picture of my Mighty Mites behind my 71 Stage 1. This is my mom's backyard back in the 80's. She sure put up with a lot...
I always thought one of these would be pretty cool to have some funzies in https://goo.gl/images/k5Wfkk
A bloody Amphicar...that thing comes from my hometown of Luebeck in Germany. They weren't very good cars and they were lousier boats. They rusted like shipwrecks and if the bilge pump failed, they held water like the Titanic. Top speed of 110 km/h, or 60 mph. The survivors are worth a pretty penny now.
Out at the old Ascot Park racetrack in LA in 1968 I actually saw a Panhard Dyna racing. I don't remember how it placed, but it was competitive.
