  1. Anyone know of an outlet for new gas tanks that would fit a 62 Invicta? Thanks tons!

Send your core tank out for a rebuild. It is done all the time for aircraft.

I do not think a repro is made specifically for a 62 but if you measure your tank they may be able to find one that is close enough to adapt to yours.

If not, here is an example of the rebuild process:

  5. Thanks so much for the replies! I can send it out-- I'm assuming this requires two straps? The tank was out when I bought the car and no evidence of straps...

If you send it out, search the internet for a shop that is closer to Indiana.

Well, with a name like BuickProfessor, might you be a teacher at the college? Just curious, I live in Seymour now, but spent most of the last 40 years in and around Vevay.

  8. Yep! I am. :bglasses:

Very cool. Any pics of your Invicta?

  10. I'll snag some! I just started the restoration, so I'm pretty pumped! :)

Smokey15 So old that I use AARP bolts.

I didn't see an intro thread, so I'll say "Welcome to V8 Buick" here.

I also have a '62. Mine's a LeSabre. I have to drop the tank to get at the apparent lack of a ground (gauge goes to past full when ignition engaged). With it being above the rear axle, it does not look "fun'. I think it's held in with bolts around the perimeter.
