Replacing the gas tank sending unit on my '68. All was going well until I tried to remove the green wire that connects from the sending unit to the gauge on the dash. At the sending unit end of the green wire, the female connection was really tight and snapped off. Does anyone reproduce these wires? Or is there a safe way to splice it on there? It has a rubber boot on it as well.

Are you sure that you have a green wire? The wire at the tank is tan. However, here is a replacement part. It plugs in to the trunk harness by the trunk latch, then goes in to the intermediate harness under the carpet and then finally to the dash harness. Replacing the whole length of the wire would be a pain.

Yes it is a green wire from the sending unit to the connection above the rear axle. Was able to retrofit a different connector and make it work. Thanks for the lead.
