If the rear cover is still on,place it over the bolts,to see if the pattern is correct. The bolt pattern for an 8.5” has a different pattern. The 12:00 and 6:00 bolts are further apart,so that is usually and easy way to check a gasket or cover.

An RDS55028 fits and 8 1/2" diff. Pretty sure the 67's have an 8.2. Unless someone swapped rear in the car. Best bet would be to take a pic of what under the car .

The cover on the diff is identical to the gasket that was on computer screen. So my diff is in effect an 8.2.

Yes and no. Yes,you original gasket looks like the one on the screen,BUT the original 8.5 gaskets looked like that too. If you have the original rear under your 67,it is the 8.2”,and the new Felpro gasket will NOT fit.

8.2 BOP has a totally different bolt pattern than the 8.5 period.
I have seen people oblong the holes to fit...BUT it is different.
10 bolt 8.2 chevy and 8.5 corperate are the same 10 bolt pattern
1964-1972 Pontiac id the cover gasket you want for your BUICK 8.2. Try that at the parts store.

The 8.5 use to come in 2 different cover applications there was a 8.5 (will call it BOP 8.5 cover gasket) shaped just like the tempest pontiac 8.2 cover gasket but they only sell the CHEVY 8.2 / 8.5 gasket as you purchased RDS 55028-1

Thanks Jim. All sorted out. They kept insisting that it was going to fit...till I gave him the part number. " Oh! I see what you mean."
