I'm looking for a Gear Vendors Overdrive unit for a GM TH-400. I am specifically looking for the short version.
Please PM me with any response or information regarding availability.

That’s next on my list but it will be a while before I can afford it. A bump for ya. Good luck with your search.

If there are any scrap yards in your area you can check for old motor homes. That is usually the best place to find a used one. I have gotten lucky a couple times and bought the used trans without anyone even knowing the OD was attached.

Great info , Is there a easy way to ID the overdrive for us novice junkyard cruisers. Are these rebuild-able and are parts available?

I believe gear vendors are out of business, but you can still find them here and there. Just look at any 400 trans and if there is something bolted on the end of it......

I think I was confusing US gear with gear vendors because I was unable to get some parts awhile back for an underdrive unit. Both of these companies produced units that were rated at over 20,000 lb towing capacity so they were definitely street/drag capable.

Gear vendors is for sure still in business, just installed 's unit onto 90ss pickup with a 650hp 502. Great company to deal with, had a few issues and they quickly send replacement parts and took all the time needed to sort through an electrical issue........bad brand new speed sensor

Sometimes they have a discount on a new one at their booth on the Power Tour. I know, they’re still not cheap.
