He will clear a little over $61K on the GS, less any registration and transport fees.

Bart wasn't there but I met Scott, who is the guy who took it and Bart's blue/white 71 442 W-30 convertible. The GS was nice, but the 442 was the car a lot of us really wanted. Always garaged kept, unrestored with only one repaint, 37k miles, original top and interior. It sold for $77,500, and I think someone got a great deal.

I think both cars sold for good prices, unfortunately they probably weren't sold to Buick guys, but probably flippers so i expect we will see them for sale again shortly for alot more money. If I am wrong and that happens quite often, congratulations to the new owners as you won't start with basket case cars and get them to that level for which you bought them. Hopefully next year a few more like this come up and I can then be the benefactor of such beautifully restored cars. Bill

Oh I know Bart's '71 W30 convertible very well. I rode in it, and it's a really great car just as you would expect from a 37k mile car. I wasn't too surprised that Bart was selling the GS, but I was surprised that he was parting with the W30 convert. I figured it would never leave his garage. I think Scott is the guy from Trans Am Depot.

The seamist car went to a collector in the Myrtle Beach, South Carolina area. The new owner said he had forty plus cars in a little museum of such for displaying collector cars.

Congrats to new owner, by the look of the pics he got one hell of a nice car. Like i said i am wrong as often as I am right. Of the few auctions I have attended the nice buicks usually sell and show up for sale a short time later on the net. B

I got the impression the car was staying with him a long time, let's hope so. Keep your eye out for a nice convertible to replace the S1. Might even do an olds.

Thanks for posting a link. Sad to see it beginning its next life as one of those cars that bounces around for sale. Only person that doesn't know Buicks would pay $89k for this car. It is an original Red, Stage 1 4-speed, but the block and transmission are not the originals, and it doesn't have a Stage 1 carb or distributor. Nice car but not $89k unless you are filthy rich and just don't care about over paying while the market is low.

I didn't know this until yesterday, but my neighbor's father almost bought this car at Mecum. He was the high bidder during the auction at $65K, but the car didn't meet reserve so he didn't get it. It sold afterwards for $66K, apparently to a flipper.

I guess it depends on what numbers a person is talking about. It does have the original "OO" rearend... Another example of why a buyer needs to VERIFY the numbers themselves before buying a car

I believe this car recently sold, to a buyer who likes the color Red. Take a guess DL.

That Russo & Steele's ad says it a numbers matching block and transmission? It is a beautiful car there's no doubt there, I'm amazed at your dads work and for $25/hour? Wow he's a artiest worth much much more than that if I ever win the lottery I'll be begging him to do my 67. I really love those stage 1's so I might have 2 cars for him, one can dream at least.

That's what he charged back when he did that car many years ago. There have been a couple of price increases since then but he's still cheap compared to most shops.
