Been looking into it for a while and I found a local business who wanted to get into the classic car market. So we worked out a pretty good deal. My paints not perfect and the fact it will be done in 2 days has be exited. Here's a YouTube link to a car wrapped in the same color. I think it looks pretty trick, should compliment the chrome wheels nicely. I'l post some after pics Sunday evening when it's done.
Looks good! I'd like to see some close ups of tights bends, edges, under hood, door jambs etc. Did they pull and replace all the trim? Bob
Seeing how I over pamper the car and its always in the heated garage he said 10 years + easy. I can't see it being on that long though. I pulled alot of trim off, stuff that won't be coming off will be trimmed around. The whole car is being done with razor tape so there won't be a blade by it anywhere. I chose the something in the blue family because of their door jams etc. It's not costing me $6000 so I can compromise a little here and there. Was something I just wanted to try out, I saw the material cost so know I'm getting a smoking deal. It's a risk, either going to be out of this world cool or look like a bass boat. But I like to roll the dice
I have had several of my work trucks wrapped and they look good from 10' but up close you can see defects. If it was the Riv I'd not be happy. Places like deep recessed body lines and inside curves seem to be the toughest places to keep the material glued down. In places it will bubble. The last one has been on there about 6 years and is starting to crack and peel in places
His other work I checked out looked great. Like I said my paints not perfect, but a paint job of this caliber would be $10k+ not for everyone but I'll take a swing at it.
Saw your post wrap picture in the "Spring has arrived..." thread - car looks good! If you are willing I'd be interested in seeing more images and maybe some close up details. Cheers Bob
I laughed when I read that because that's exactly what I was thinking( "that looks like a bass boat") after watching the vid. I hope it turns out well for you and that you like the results. That's all that matters. Good luck!
Yes it is. Washed and out for the first time today, trying to get some good pics. For some reason my phone doesn't do it justice at all
Bob, I'm going to do my best to try and take some better shots today. For some reason the metallics seem to play games with my phone and can't get really good pictures. May take a video if it comes out better
Saw the other post, looks good! Where are you located or where is the shop? What did it cost? (Ballpark) Would it work over primer?
I'm surprised anyone is still using vinyl wraps with spray able autoflex coatings, you can cut buff anything you can do to paint almost.
How long can you keep it wrapped? If you keep it on long enough will it hold water and rust like under a vinyl top? Did you say what it cost?
