i am in need of glove box lock for our 68 Lesabre...I found a guy who has one on a car he is parting out but he cannot figure out how it comes apart...does anyone know how to get this style glove box lock apart?
i have a NOS one for sale that I think may work, will need keyed but so will the used one. Can see it here at this link. http://www.v8buick.com/index.php?threads/1969-nos-glove-box-lock-series-50-60-80-90.342711/ To get the old one out you need to take a small screwdriver, nail or pick and depress each spring on the back of the lock while gently pulling out the lock. Will need to repeat with each spring. Do a search here on glove box lock removal and you should find someone that posted this before with better instructions.
Thanks for the response and the link...but I also need the latch assembly for the 68...Do you have one of them?
Mine is loose and keeps popping out of the glove box when I hit a good bump. After watching that YouTube clip, it appears my latch screw is actually attached to the lock (outside part). I guess I have detach the two pieces and start from scratch. This is annoying. Suggestions?
