Wish someone had reminded me of that 4 or 5 months ago......
I've got a good girl friend but have been taking her for granted lately. She loves to go to the drags or NASCAR races. I've got two Regals, one with a stock V/6 and another that had a BBC (soon to be BBB). The BBC one would run 10.90's and the V/6 one high 17's-low 18's. Because I haven't got off my Butt and put the BBB motor in the car I've been bracket racing the V/6 one. She keeps asking me when I'm going to get the BBB motor in and quit racing the wimp one. She hates it when I'm the slowest car in the field even though I've won about $8000.00 with the car. Guess I'd better get the BBB motor in and spend more time with her, its hard to find a woman you can fully trust and who fully trust you. At 60 years of age I guess I better get my act together, huh? :3gears:
Hey that's great to hear. I don't think age really has anything to do with it! LOL
If it still works, it still works!! :Brow:
Yeh it's quite nice. A total family project. My daughter saw a '64 Cuda and had me stop the car. She took down the license plate number (mind you she's 10) and told me that she "is gonna find the owner and ask how much he wants for the car, cause I wanna restore it..." I think I've created a monster or a true gearhead chick without knowing it. o No: Go figure. I just gotta get her to tune into Buicks...
they are hard to find. as most of you know, i got me one:laugh:
hope she doesnt see this picray: she'll kick my:moonu:
OOOOO I'm telling Joy and then I'm telling her to video herself kicking your rear!
I'll go on record about the whole "god bless gearhead chicks":TU:
PS *from Beth....OMG Doug is she gonna kill you for that one, & I wanna watch :spank:
Doug...You're dead meat...My wife would absolutely kill me if I posted any pic of her on here..Better get the jeweler's number handy There are 2 other women that's going to rat on you..You poor Bast@rd...
If she is a good gear head chic hopefully she will laugh it off . She should be proud that he would post that picture .
Doug - you are a lucky man!
Ok now i'm scarred for life. thx doug, was that necessary?
If she's a REAL Gearhead Chick, (and I know she is!), that shouldn't bother her in the least! (LOL LOL)
Just another note though on this thread. Today I'm getting my new truck, trailer and my GS road worthy and ready to travel, just like I do every spring. The only difference is this year I'm doing it SOLO and without the help of any Gearhead Chick, and let me be frank, IT SUCKS!!!!!! Not that I miss the work they do and the help they offer, that goes without saying, but just the fact of having someone there to mentally assist, if you know what I mean. You know, sometimes us guys are a little brain dead, and to have a set of helping hands and keen eyes to tell me what I'm doing wrong or forgot, ...well, that's really priceless! Don't be too surprised if I show up in BG with my truck and trailer to find that I forgot my car at home! ou:
Just my lonely .02 for the day!
Yes it does SUCK. I too have recently lost my good thing and somehow I don't think I'll be done licking my wounds anytime soon either.
Dougie won't be posting anything for a while since I took a hammer to his fingers for posting the pic :Brow: Just kiddin', I am not upset at all but will kick his butt just for Renee and Beth because it sounds like fun, will take :kodak: See you later Doug, make sure you duck when I come home
Steve - do you want me to make you a list? Then you can cross stuff off. Just for now, until you find another one?
I guess I know where you will be sleeping for a while......
See you all in BG !!!!!!!!!!!!!
P.S. Yo Bueller.....nice #^& p
A list would be good! Too bad I'd probably forget the list too!! lol
And yes, I'll find another "one" someday! This racing thing is much too much work by yourself!! lol
Take care, & like Steve S said, "See you all in BG !!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Yo Slick, thanks! We won't be making it BG this year but will be at the BPG Nats in August, hope to see you all there!
I think it's tough in general to find a partner who has a passion for any of the same mutual hobby but Doug and I found that because both of us loved everything about racing before meeting, it makes it that much better. Seems like there are some women/men who genuinely try to enjoy racing (or any other hobby) but unless there's some interest to begin with, it's going to be a forced thing and neither person will enjoy in the long run......just my .02.....
Mine is "The Best"...
She's given me Thirteen great years and two fine sons. And she enjoys my second love almost as much as I do...a few years back she bought me a new set of aluminum heads, and recently replaced my air compressor.
She's sweet as apple pie and real easy on the eye's...if you know what I mean.:Brow:
We are truly blessed and have a wonderful life together. :TU:
