Hey , here is one for you Body Guys .
I'm wanting to go to a Non- Vinyl Top on my 72' Lark .
I was considering using lead for the seams , and "heat fence" to do it .
Will the Epoxy Sealer stick to the Lead without lifting ? The seams currently have a soft compund in them and will need to be totally redone . I know it's alot of work but I've got time .
How about some input ? Is Lead the way to go to prevent cracks ?
Is there another way I'm not aware of ? I have used Bondo in the past and it came out well . I'm really concerned about cracks reappearing with the Torque Situation on these cars .
    How about some help ?
    Steve

Skip leaded in the seams on my 72GS for that same reason.

    Seam Leading

Thanks Mike , I've been looking in Eastwoods' catalog . They offer a Basic Leading Kit with paddles , lead rods & Heat Fence for a reasonable price . I think I'll go this route myself . What about adhesion of the Epoxy Sealer to the lead, any info on that ?
Is that Skip Yannehan (SP) you're referring to ?

Yes, Skip Ylhainen. dryskip on here. You could try PMing him to get details on what they do at their shop. I'm not up on the technical aspects of it all.
