    Hi all!

I found a dude on the local Craigslist selling an Auburn posi, Richmond Gear 3.55s and a Richmond install kit for a BOP 8.2. All new in box. He said he would do $700 for all of it. Should I jump on this? Or should I wait and hunt down and build an 8.5 like everyone else does. I was planning on eventually doing 3.42s coupled with 2004R. I already have the trans but this would help speed the process. Parts would retail at $927.

    From the ad:

    10 bolt ring and pinion-
    PN 49-0082-1
    3.55 Richmond gears
    New/never installed
    $250

    10 bolt LSD/posi
    PN 542060
    Auburn brand
    New/never installed
    $430

    Install kit
    PN 83-1040-1
    Richmond gear
    New/unopened
    $80

    What do you think?

    Jim Jones Wretched Excess

Won't work in a 1968-1970 Buick housing which received a pinion diameter of 1.875" The R&P listed has a 1.438" diameter pinion.

Ah thanks for the info! I'm pretty new to rear end stuff, glad I didn't jump the gun!!!

The posi carrier would still work though right? Install kit?

The 64-67 BOP 8.2 is not the same as the 68-70 Buick only 8.2 10 bolt.
