    Al,

8:34 AM Saturday here. I make myself feel better if I don't start work until "late" on Sat and Sunday.

And my "workday" (TSP,& BPG) typically ends at 10-12 PM, seven days a week.

'Ya, I know the boss.. he is a pain in the Ass..:spank: making me work weekends.

    Baron Lore,

Nope not yet.. Silly me though I could be on a 6 day work schedule, which worked out fine, until the engine building aspect of the business took off. Now we are back to 7 days a week. Race car is shaping up great, and will be a very neat piece when completed. It's getting close, but I have the same problem as everyone else.. if the vendors slow down anymore, they are going to have to speed up to stop. My Powder Coater has had the rear suspension components and housing for going on 4 months now. IN all fairness to him, we were trying to match the subframe/cage color, but metallic brown is simply not available in many shades in powdercoat, and we could not get a match that was close enough, and finally ended upgoing with Satin Black. Building the Headers for this car, took about twice as long as I figured, and the mid/Front motor plates were later add ons. I have 35 hours into the Prototype/mounting/fabricating of those two plates alone. And another 65 into the headers.

The whole upper/front half of this aluminum Headed beast will be polished, so that required I build all kinds of special fixtures for those parts, and since I had to have the exact heads on it when doing the prototype work for the plate and headers, those parts were "tied up" until recently. Today's adgenda goes like this:

Finish fixture setup on Aluminum parts for polishing.. Have a whole bunch of stuff going in Monday.. 3 Manifolds, 1 set heads, 2 timing cover/water pump assemblies. I also have to finish porting 2 of the manifolds.

Once that is complete, I have a couple of dash bezels to detail paint, and a few other parts, and this job is overdue, and I will work late into the night tonight to get these done.

The motor for that STG 1 Convert is nearing completion now, and that car is 3/4 dissasembled. I just got the new seat covers yesterday for it (Thanks Mike!)

Then I will finish the day by processing the membership for about a dozen new BPG members.

But you will not catch me complaining about too much work..

    JW

    Dang.. now I'm late!

If I had to move to MN to work around cars all day, I'd do it. There's nothing better than doing the things you love the most...and getting paid for it!:beer

The only thing better is getting to do it in warm sunny weather.Or a heated shop. Thanks again Mike G. for having a heated shop to play in while we were there in Topeka.:TU:

Ya, I know Al, and I guess that post came out sounding a little harsh.. certainly did not mean it that way..

I guess the morning coffee had not taken effect yet.

Just got off the phone with a local Buick guy, so I quick brought up the board to see what is going on, and re-read my earlier post..

Most folks don't know we give each other a lot of crap, so I want to make sure no one views this as anything but that.. you know, the old "written word" deal.

Your re-plated hood latch show up yet?

    Back to work....

    14 degrees

It was 14 degrees here when the sun came up and way to cold to even think about going out into the shop until it is above freezing!

Jim W. You must not have any kids or a wife?!?!?!?! I have two boys that love to help (destroy) in the shop! Of course with them under the car with me is fun until we go back into the house and the wife sees the grease on their clothes!!!!!!

Keep up the good work. Maybe your race car will be done before mine. I have been working on mine for years. I have moved twice and had to build two shops, of course each one gets bigger just like the wife's house!

    long time

    Jim

When was that auction? It's been a long time hasn't it?

Things have been slow as far as the Buicks have gone. I have had 3 eye surgeries at Duke eye center since Sept. 13th (and yes that was a friday the 13th). I have missed lots of work and of course Bristol. I am still with out use of my right eye but I am back at work and not on light duty. I managed to take the boys hunting before the deer season was over after I learned how to shoot left handed.

The Dr. wants to do one more surgery to repair my retina but it will not improve my vision so I want to talk him out of it if possible. I told him when BG was and I don't want to miss that!
I may have to wait for technology to catch up with me and have a retinal transplant to get most of my vision back.

    How are things with you?

I can't remember where you live at. Was it Charlotte?

    Jimmy

Aw shucks Jim, I didn't take your comment as harsh. I think I would have been offended if you didn't say anything......
For anyone who doesn't know JW, he probably keeps longer hours than most sane people. I'd wager close to 18 hrs a day doing something Buick related.
By the way, no hood latch yet,but I'm eagerly awaiting it's arrival. Thanks again, :TU:

    Just got the good morning.

I got called into work today, and have been working since 10:AM on this damn database server virus. That wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for the call I got at 2:30 this morning that ended at 4:AM. Don't these people EVER sleep?!? :blast: I hate being on call.

Well, just venting. Hopefully, I can take that good morning message to heart tomorrow.

I got up early to take my son to Karate then we went to the drug/repo house so we could clean it out of all the major metal trash ..... I scored a huge "L" desk, and some tools and a BB gun.... :beer Its amazing what the looser druggy morons leave behind. I even found an unopened "Jesus" VHS tape that came in the mail..... I guess they didnt have time to watch it. :puzzled:

They were making crank in the basement we found tons of drug parifanalia and other items that looked like they were in the business:blast: :blast:
