Since my car is not going to be a show car, I am also going to paint the plastic parts charcoal grey.

I would paint that air cleaner, first with Rustolum Professional primer and let dry for a few days then finish up with Rustolum Painter touch Semi-gloss Black 1974830, Its a real nice gloss that IMO looks totally factory... Ive used this on varous parts as of late and was blown away how great it looks.. Good Luck

Eric, I admit to not knowing much about the 68-69 stuff but Dl is right about Osborne. I have their BC decal that is one number off. They are the only game in town so we are stuck. Year One and big vendors do not know crap about waht is right for our cars and will sell the wrong stuff as few guys ever figure this stuff out. The part number is on the decals and this was the part number for the Air cleaner. You have to do some reserach in an assembly manual to find correct part number and match it up to see what they sell. At least should be a "B" code. I asked Osborne to do the right part number on the BC code and they just laughed. The Blue is way too light as well. I thought of having my own made like I did 71 Stage-1 Decal but at a $400 investment again my wife would kill me and I would have to sell my car.

    Hi Dave...
OK...well...I'll just have to figure this all out after I install my Vintage Air system this summer in the 69. At least a Year One Judge would not down grade me for the wrong Air Cleaner Decal !

I'm not sure if this would work, but theres a wax out there called back to black for matte finishes. We used it when my dad had his 84 turbo gt and it really brought back the flat/matte black stripe on the hood. I'm not sure how well it would work on the plastic pieces but it might be worth looking into if they're just faded.

I was looking for the paint and i was always thinking it was engine enamel 500 degree paint, but it doesn't need to be right?

    That looks great.
Just so I'm clear, the colors in your pic are: semi gloss for the metal, and Plasti-Kote Charcoal Grey for the plastic snorkel?
    Thanks

Now check out a magazine photo from 1970. Picture is B + W but it is obvious it is gloss.
