    I agree.

Let the FAST guys play around by moving that weight around the car, but the stock guys should be restricted to original configuration.

And I would like to see a spec fuel for the stock classes to be dispensed at the event.

Practically speaking, trying to hardcore tech as many cars as show up at these events is just impossible. My thinking is that some of these items would be easy to incorporate and not need any special "tech official" to enforce.

"Oh boy 4 posts and u have friends with a comment like that? I am just getting involved in FAST / S/A not pure! The people and friends you meet are the reasons you get involved. Then going for times and fun. :Smarty: "

Phillip, The point I was trying to make is I come to this event for the racing. Certainly I enjoy seeing everyone and hanging out with people, but the race is the basis for all of this, with the socializing secondary.

You know, if I wanted to race a guy in a NHRA-certified stock eliminator car, and then socialize in the pits or at the hotel, then why shouldn't I just go to any dragstrip in the land on any weekend to race? Again, the point is to keep this event special and unlike "every other racetrack's" program or events. When I got involved in this I thought the intent of this event is for STOCK musclecars.

Oh, and lighten up on my 4 posts. So I'm not an internet forum blabbermouth. Are you insinuating that only people who have a certain number of posts have opinions that count? I think you once had 4 posts too. I'm smiling as I wrote that. That's not an attack on you, just a discussion point.:beers2:

Mike Hurd - I'll take your advice into consideration, since you apparently only want to race and hang out with people who agree with your opinions, and certainly don't want to hear mine.:TU:

I don't want to see the event go away. I want to see it return to its original intent.

I agree.... everybody should weigh within 25 pounds of their shipping weight. Only thing is, how are the most of you gonna do that? While I may personally weigh in on the heavy side, just think about what you are asking for here.

    For example, a 69 Corvette 427 L88 with aluminum heads and a turbo 400 has a shipping weight of 3269 pounds. A 69 427 iron motor Camaro with a turbo 400 should weigh 3424. A 69 Camaro with a 427 ZL1 aluminum block would be 3181. A 70 SS454 Chevelle 4 speed should weigh in at 3634.

O.K., if you're too light, put the weight back in, if you're too heavy, get the weight down. I'm betting that you aren't going to find any cars that are too light, but I'll bet you are going to find lots of cars that are real porkers. I suggest that you all get going on that 25 pound recommendation thing.....

Maybe we could get Donny Brass to make up a spread sheet that shows just where everyone is on the weight thing. That is if Donny has a week or so with nothing to do..... :Comp:

The only resemblance some of these cars have to a stock eliminator car is a couple of blueprint specs on the engine; deck height and combustion chamber cc measurement. Nothing else is allowed regarding NHRA stock class car rules.

This is well said; and is where the pendulum rests with the silent majority.

Let me try to be a little more dilplomatic. Most people I hang out with don't agree with or like many of my opinions, but they are still considered some of my best friends. This would most likely include you if we sat and had a beer. The common thread being competitors at the same event. I believe if you were to attend one of these gatherings at the track or host motel would find it's exactly like being home or your best friends house.

I should not amswer as I have never run PSMCDR but
I will answer your points backwards (last to 1st)
These events wont go away, I think the intent is there to be honest and fair. Check the rules for each race. My car is 4260 Lbs with me in it.

After 25 years in SCCA road racing and board of directors and numerous other stuff, I race for fun and hate the politics and the people that protest you behind your back. Always raced for the fun and a good time

Why do you think your opinion does not count. no one said that. Everyone is entitled to thier opinion and I don't care if you have a million posts.

Oh I am saying this all in a light hearted way no Harm!

NHRA Stock elim. well there are always rules. Pick and choose carefully!:3gears: :3gears:

The wine and service were good but the meal was poor. Our lamb special was overcooked and tough even though we specifically requested medium rare. They advertised serves 2-3 but we have 5 tiny fingerling potatoes and maybe 6-7 green beans. We had gelato as a desert which came out runny. They either put them in hot dishes or it sat for a while before it was served. We had the appetizer trio which we felt that the artichokes were plopped on the plate out of a jar and the portebello mushrooms were tiny little slivers the stuffed peppers were excellent but as small as they were you'd think we would have have more than 5 of them. Becaouse of the atmosphere we'll give it another try but I think I'll try the pizza. At least if its not up to par I won't be spending $70 for it.

I think we need to start another "T" party for Tom!
I worry that some of the borderline stockers are going to spoil this for everyone else. If it's not believable then we will stop growing and become a minor league Fast Race.

I am John Hlivko. Yes, I have had and still do have cars I show. I raced a 1969.5 Dodge Six Pack Super Bee and was a participant in PSMCDR events until I sold the car back to its previous owner.

Steve A (full name unposted): Here's a fact for you. I never wrote that restaurant critique. There is more than one John Hlivko out in the world. You might find one that is a medical student in OH, and another that is a real estate agent in IL.

For Roberta (full name unposted): I'll sign off using my whole name, as I have done in some of my previous posts on this same subject.

    Sincerely,
    John Hlivko
