Heater cable replacement

The plastic tabs on the heater cables on my 67 skylark (no AC) are broken and I do have replacement cables. But, the factory manual is not very clear on how exactly to remove the cables -- particularly the middle one (outside air inlet flap control) -- I was not able to remove this cable from at the heater end.

Also, at the controls, I did remove the 2 screws and pull the panel out, but I could not get it out more than an inch. I assumed it was because I did not have 2 of the 3 cables detached at the heater box end. Or, is there something else I should have done or looked for?

    All tips appreciated.

    Thx,

Managed to get it out - required some contortion. Spraying wd40 on the posts that the cable loops onto helped with getting the spring clips off. Removing the glove box would have made it easier.

So got it all off and cleaned out the control unit and lubricated it. Got ready to fit it back when I discovered that the OPGI cables aren't the right fit. One's too long. AARGH...

They don't have another set either.

So, any other sources for the right cables? 67 Skylark non-AC. Need all 3 cables.

Are the heater cables on the '66 skylark non-ac, same as on the '67 skylark non-ac? OPGI has a set for the '66, but not 67. They are the right color code and I know the dash is the same on the 66 and 67, but not sure if the heater box was different and therefore the cables different.
