I had my A/C compressor replaced last year, and it looks like the tech didn't replace the vacuum to the heater control valve -- I don't know where the valve's vacuum is supposed to come from -- can anyone help?

See below, I have the flow to heater core literally clamped off, and a manual shut-off valve on order. Would like to get everything working as stock again. Blows ice-cold with the hot water shut off...

You have to follow the hose from the valve. It should go through the firewall to the heater control. It should be a black hose w/ white stripe. A hose from the heater control goes to the vac source. Look around that cannister in your pic for a loose hose, black w/ white stripe.

OK....I see you added a pic. I'm pretty sure your heater valve is backwards...it's a common mistake.

Frank is correct. You valve is on backwards? Why does everyone do this? The picture is clear in the assembly and service manuals.

Thanks so much! I switched the valve around, ACC still wasn't working (heater valve wasn't being closed), so I installed a remote cutoff switch -- system works great now!
