Hello all! My name is David and I own a Buick. (Is this an AA meeting...?) Lol It's a 1956 Buick Special 2dr hardtop with the 322ci nailhead. I've put on a 4bbl carb and intake (with the Buick starting system.) Trying to get everything working and reliable. Sorry I don't have pictures or much of anything on the profile yet. Having an issue with uploading. I am 26 years old and have owned a shop in Clay Center, KS for two years now where I restore cars. I have a decent understanding of how most things work, but there is plenty to learn. I'm young and haven't had a chance to learn all of it yet. I've checked on forums before when I get stumped and it's been very helpful. Hopefully I'll be able to provide a little help here and there for some other people as well. Looking forward to a good motoring relationship. :beers2::beers2::beer Thanks, David
Welcome from ex owner of a 56 Special 2 dr HT. Looking forward to some pics. Here's mine, still think they are handsome cars. Had a 56 Century back in my youth, loved that one too.
Still having difficulty attaching the car and pictures to my profile in "the garage". The fact that I'm using a smart phone may be the cause. If it is then it'll have to wait until I get around a computer with internet. Hopefully a couple pictures will come through on this post.
Welcome David. It's always great to know that another young person is into the preservation of classic cars. Nice color combo on the Buick. You'll find a plethora of knowledge and help finding parts on V8 Buick.
That color is exactly like my old Century except the bottom was all blue. Sold it to a friend cuz I needed some cash. Looked for it off and on for years, never found it to buy back. Had dual glass packs, sounded great. Does yours have the dual exhaust notches in the corners of the rear bumper? I notice yours has the "J Bars" on the rear bumpers which was an option I believe.
Definitely has the dual exhaust with bumper cut outs. Sounds a little like a WWII plane right now with an exhaust leak. Hopefully a simple fix. Passenger pipe is loose at the manifold.
Welcome from Wichita! I like the look of your car. It just says "been there, done that, and still breathing. After all, I AM a Buick!" Joe
