Well I just spent the better part of the day with my mom in the ememgency room and now it looks like she will be in the hospital for some time. First off she's a very active 81 year old that still works part time. She'd been feeling weak the last couple days and then Friday night couldn't breath so we rushed her in. Doctors aren't sure if it's heart valve or blockage but she's in stages of congestive heart failure with water around the heart and lungs. She's now stable, was moved to a room, and they don't believe she will have a heart attack at this point. Doctors are doing what they can but I figured that some prayers couldn't hurt. I'm going to try and catch a nap and then head back up to the hospital. Thanks
Thanks everyone, were taking it one day at a time. Shawn I'll tell her you said hello, she's at Lake West. I'll be going back tonight. Just got back home from the hospital. The cardiologist said that the current test results looked worse then he first thought. They can't do a stress test now but they are going to run a couple more tests and then talk to use Tomorow or Tuesday. Hard to see her like this. She's normally all over the place and today she couldn't walk 50 feet with oxygen before she had to rest.
matt, i know what you're going thru. my mother is 90 years old. i take her shopping, pick up her medicine and take care of her as best i can. you sound like a good son. prayers coming for your mom. good luck
Thanks again for all the prayers and good thoughts! Water in her lungs is cleared enough for them to run a Katheresation(SP) of the heart. They are going to try that tomorrow. Heart is weak and the Kidneys aren't functioning well either so there is some risk here but the Doctors said this is a must to detemine a treatment. Matt
Hey Matt Leeann and I will adding you prayer request. Hope all goes well, she is in God's hands now. Your mom is so blessed to have such a good son. Ross
Matt, I pray that you, your mom and your entire family will be comforted through the peace of God. Keep us posted. David
Well the old saying 3 steps forward and 1 step back cam into play. Mom had a bad day yesterday. They are still trying to complete testing to determine everything that needs attention. Yesterday she passed out when the nurse cam into the room and they sprang into action. She had 104 Deg F temp, high heart rate, and high blood pressure. They took cultures and we should find out soon but all arrows point to some kind of infection. All testing is now on hold until she is stable and they identify and correct the source of infection. Thanks for all the toughts and prayers! Matt
